Envisioning Chemistry: Getting Hot (with Thermal Imaging)

Показать описание
Many chemical reactions release heat. These reactions are also called exothermic reactions. With the help of an infrared thermal camera, we can visualize the temperature change during these reactions. In this film, we show 5 exothermic processes captured with a normal and a thermal camera, including the dissolving of sodium hydroxide, the dilution of concentrated sulfuric acid, the hydration reaction between concentrated sulfuric acid and paper, the neutralization reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide, and the reaction between sodium metal and water.
