I also took it all apart and even washed the insides with water, cleaner and a brush then I blew it out using air compressor and let it air dry for another day put it all together and my dyson is working like brand new

Actually that space surrounding the central intake is the cyclone discharge chamber. That’s where the dust gets ejected from all the miniature cyclones. It’s a shame that Dyson makes the area behind the shroud so difficult to access since that is where a lot of dust can linger.

This is from running the machine until the bin is overfilled.

In have a v11. Yes I agree, a lot of fine dust gets trapped inside. I noticed the clogged bit in the middle would remain unclogged if I followed 3 steps: 1. Open the canister the normal way by pulling the red lever. 2. Completely remove the clear outer covering by pressing the small red button. 3. Vigorously tap the bottom end of the machine in all directions to shake out all the dust. Hope this helps.

Thank you! Took it apart and had the same dust clog. So helpful 👍🏼👍🏼

It’s designed that way so the user upgrades to their next latest and greatest! Not a very good design for anyone who wants a quality product that will last years and years of course Dyson is not designed to. It’s good for Dysons profits.

Every 2-3 years I need to do a deep clean to the highest priced vacuum. This is one of many issues also the ceased trigger button on the V10 is another. Next the motor will have problem. Other cheaper brands are much better.

Shame with these cordless vacuums when it’s on low speed the cyclone generated isn’t enough to keep dust away from the filter like the corded bagless Dyson’s are!! Only when running the cordless Dyson on high settings is the cyclone generated actually effective at trapping fine dust in the bin!!

Ive had a few dyson cordless hoovers over the years and the amount of dust that gets stuck in places where you cant get to is ridiculous. So i opted for the Henry Quick and have to say it’s way better and no problems like what you’re showing in your video. Every pod thats ejected is quick and easy no messing with dust everywhere.

Why is there no single video on dissasembling the v12?

Do you have tutorial how to dismantle this? Thanks

So how did you clean the silver canister? Did you clean it with water or do you have a special tool cause the video doesn’t show the complete cleaning up of the canister?

The only thing about this Dyson that’s better than a Henry, is its cordless design and the fact that it takes up very little space. Other than that, Henry wins all day. Simple and really efficient. I’ll definitely be reverting back at some point in time.

That’s what happens when users neglect the maximum fill line of the dust bin.

Another good way to prevent this from happening is setting the vac to BOOST mode, with the bin closed, turn it on while smacking all the cyclones vigorously then the bin multiple times.

This perfectly dislodges fine dust inside.

basically that was already full after the first clean with the v12. so I guess I had a "2 years Dust Build Up" in my apartment :D

Just bought the v15 to replace my v-11, but I am curious to try this technique to see how much is in there. Ive had it nearly 4 years and used it daily, so im sure its a hot mess. Thanks for the tip man!

For the price we pay Dyson should make it easier to clean n maintain the machine like taking it apart via clicking which Dyson loves so much of

Did it give you the flashing nozzle block logo?

I’m having that right now and considering taking it apart like this
