As far as I see it, the only 2 worth considering are the A1 and P1S. If you are newer to printing, don't need an enclosure, or are only printing PLA, go with the A1. Otherwise, go with P1S. The A1 mini and P1P are too close in price to the other 2 and don't make sense given big feature jumps. As for the X1C, it is too expensive for not enough of a feature jump. The biggest feature difference imao is the lidar, which is only useful if a print is not going well, which from my experience is a rare occurrence on Bambu printers. The touch screen is really not needed with the app, and sure, the camera is a bit better, but again, not worth the price hike.

Bambu's next move should be an affordable and compact filament recycler. They'd make a killing on that, and not just from Bambu printer users. If anyone could pull that off, it's them.

Thanks for this video. Gonna get the P1s combo in November. That printer is right in the middle of what i want and what I need and dont need.

I got an A1 Mini without the AMS. Yes would prefer a bigger one but just do not have the space. There have only been a few times a bigger print volume would have been nice. After a month I have had one failed print which was my fault. It feels more like the printer attached to the PC, select what you want to print, choose any options and go. No faffing around with the actual printer. The quality of prints is very good. I have printed 1/35 scale figures and whole kits that may not be up to resin quality but really are pretty good. Not had time to play with settings or using a 0.2 nozzle.

The up up down down b a start was much appreciated.

A few other notes. The A1 has remote download from the sdcard as well, and has error detection such as detecting blobbing on the nozzle and if there is a filament jam or clog. Also swapping nozzles on the A1's is absolutely super easy and cheap -- so getting 0.2 and 0.6 nozzles is very useful even on a per-print basis. They offer an extreme amount of value for their price -- but otherwise you are right about the CoreXY machines being a little better in terms of print quality. The Mini does a touch better than the full-size A1 with its smaller bed and better motion system. As far as I know, the P1's don't have any sort of failure detection. Good review.

In march I buy anycubic kobra 2 neo as my first printer. One and half week ago order a1 mini. Can't wait to try it. For me at this moment where I am beginner in 3d printing a1 mini is the best option. Its less than 300 euro normal a1 is almost twice of that price including taxes and shipping for my country and other option is way too expensive for me right now. Very good comparison fauxhammer and thank you for anycubic kobra 2 neo video.

Thank you for a to the point review and not going too far into the weeds about the similar things between models, like the lights. I have a X1C with the AMS and love it. Thanks to your video I'm thinking more about the P1S instead of the A1. I do print with ABS, when a client requests it. But I also have other clients who want multi-color along with silk and the AMS is a so nice to not have to remember to swap by hand and like you said not sitting in the open for a time due to going to work while the print is finishing up. It's very humid where I am, lots of vacuum bags and reusable desiccant is in use in my work area. Here I am going in a tangent now!!!🤐🤦‍♂

FYI, you can remotely access the files on the sdcard of the P1 series, including video. It's just done using an ftp client rather than built into the slicer or app.

Bambulab bed slingers are just so good in value it's ironic. Their initial promise was to end the bed slingers era but now they say "it's 2x cheaper for a VERY similar speed and quality".
So I'm thinking about switching from my dumb box printer to a bambu bed slinger which I didn't think I would do.

Excellent video. One thing that confused me a little was the difference between de regular and combo versions (the bambu site does not explain this explicitely, weirdly enough). But I got from the contex this is about the casing for the multi color spools.

The p1s definitely seems like the best value for money, but the X1 is good if you want some extra convenience add-ons

One thing to mention about P1P vs P1S is that if you are in the UK and want an AMS unit, P1S combo is actually around the same price or cheaper than P1P with a separate AMS unit. That and the fact I will have the printer in a garage with the door open half the time has made the P1S a better option personally, even though I have no current plans to print with materials like ABS, ASA etc.

If Bambu would send a firmware update allowing 115C bed temps, I’d buy nothing but P1S’s. But my guess is they never will, for just that reason. I don’t need the LiDAR, the display is nice but not needed, I upgraded my extruder and nozzle to hardened steel. Only thing keeping me from printing nylon or CF now is bed temp. Like you said though, how often will I print those? And, I have a Voron for that….

Would love to get into 3d printing. I think i would probably go for the P1S.
I might just get the A1 Mini first though. its pretty cheap to have as a first 3d printer, sitting on your desk etc.
For only €200 it feels like a great option and not a big deal to upgrade later on.
The A1 at €330 is prob getting to the point where it would prob be worth just going straight for the P1P/S rather than upgrading later

Helpful review. Something almost no one mentions is where is best to place your printer - garage, spare room, kitchen etc etc. What is the ideal environment and does an enclosed printer give some leeway? Some filaments seem to be more demanding than others -eg TPU?

I upgraded my P1P to the P1S and added a light riser. It’s pretty. And It’s a lot quieter.

Actually no one talks about the fact, that the X1 carbon has more powerful HW base, so in the future, it could be upgraded by bambu itself. It has LIDAR, capable of AI, and so on. HW is given, only the SW and the future remained for upgrades. P1 series has -lot- weaker HW, so i dont see the physical opportunity to upgrade it in any ways.
Would be great to hear from bambu about the capabilities of the X1's HW (and SW) in the future.
