The invisible seam is the best way to join granny squares if you need a super quick, completely flat seam with a 'fused at the edges' kind of look. Plus it's a nice change of pace if you need a little break from your hook :) In this video, I'll show you how it's done in just a few minutes.

Thank you. Have done this decades ago. I now have a tote of granny squares. After my husband died suddenly it was a quiet therapy. After ten years it is time to make a lap blanket. I sew together back loops then front loops. My squares are a gaint mixture of pinks in middle then green then white. Kinda shabby chic colors of flowers. Thanks for the reminder and incentive.

I have no problems with the squares, but the seaming is my big problem. This is fantastic, thank you!

Thank you so much. This is the hardest part for me. I avoid squares for this reason, but now I have no excuse! 💕💕💕

Generous! I have been sitting on bags of granny squares for years because I was dreading the thought of connecting them. But now, I feel ready to tackle and finish my project. Thank you so much. ❤

You are the best. I love the idea of using the needle instead of the hook.
I will be happy 😃 putting my squares together now.

Love it! I often makes squares of scrap yarn and really don’t like the “join as you go” method. Your way looks easy, relaxing, and quick to do while watching TV.

Hello 👋! I was starting to join my granny squares with my crochet hook and yarn for the more “bulky” attachments. But, after watching your video, this makes me want to undo them and do your method. I’m S💕 happy that I bumped into your video ☺️! And yes, I did subscribe 👍😀👍!!!

I just finished all my squares for a cardi and have considered numerous ways of joining, going back and firth between sewing and crocheting. I was leaning toward crocheting, as the yarn is used one time only and it doesn’t cause the wear of bringing the yarn through stitches over and over again. But going back and forth like here and joining shorter lengths of yarn with a magic knot might be the sweet spot. Thanks!

I love this so much! I love crocheting granny squares, but every time I start to put them together, I say I’m never doing it again. Lol

First time visiting your channel. I enjoyed this tutorial and listening to you speak. You have a calm and soothing voice yet confident in your instructions. I’ve always ridden the struggle bus when it comes to joining. What method is best, easiest, looks good, etc. My least favorite has been to sew them together mainly because of deciding how much yarn to begin with so that it doesn’t look frayed by the time I run out and then having to weave an end. Well ta-da, you solved the problem. That little magic knot never crossed my mind. Thank you for this tutorial and I will sew these squares together and think of B. Hooked each time I join from now on.

Thank you for this, very easy to follow and to the point! I'm making my first blanket and as I'm approaching finishing all my granny squares I was getting nervous that I wouldn't understand how to put them together!

Goodness, I wish I had seen this video before I started whip stitching my squares together! Your method looks much nicer. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you! I inherited a couple garbage bags of granny squares (from my granny, funnily enough) and am no stranger to fiber crafts, but I'm a terrible knitter and worse crocheter (crochetter?), but I can totally do this, and those squares won't go to waste now.
