I sang this song for my talent show because my grandma died and she meant the world to me and i still love her with every single piece of heart but at least she is in a better place. I won because it brought everyone into tears but it wasn't just winning i cared about. One of my teachers knew my grandma very well they were friends when they were kids so they knew each other very well. So my teacher before she announced i had won she gave a heart meaning speech about saying how proud she would be if she was hear listening to hear her granddaughter and making a special message that your not just alone. And she did something unexpected she brought a memory card and put some videos of her and her friends my grandma and some pictures of me and her grandchildren and her kids. She died the day we brought Ed Sheerans CD dive and when we looked at the song titles we were like what was he thinking naming a song supermarket flowers and when we listened to the song i cried my eyes out i was at my friends house. They all knew how much pain i went through so it was quite hard. The day it was her funeral we played this song even though it wasn't her favourite it meant a lot to us. And i know how ed sheeran was feeling while writing and recording this. But im happy that she is in a better place and not feeling any pain and looking down at us and wondering if she could be here. So i would just like to say thank you Ed Sheeran for making this song it touch my heart your heart and many hearts and we can all relate to this song we all love you ed lets try to get through this.

I went to a funeral a few months ago for my moms friend who died of cancer. She had a daughter my age. My mom has terminal cancer and they played this song at the funeral. It hit home to me and I heard it today and it was hard to hold back tears realizing I dont have much time left with

This definitely brought tears to my eyes, My mum and I had a very strong bond we where like best friends.
3 years ago we got the horrible news, That she had stage 3 lung cancer..I was her caregiver through it all and it was horrible.
The last things she said to me was " I love you" and " It will be alright." She was able before she passed away say goodbye.

I just find this song so surprising because, I called my mother mum..I tossed out old tea that we shared together and ginger beer. I was the one the only one to pack away her clothes, It took me forever to feel right about packing up her clothes.

It still makes me sad she didn't see my engagement, She loved my fiance like a son. She won't see my wedding or me go to college or see a grandchild from me..But she did get to see the person I am and she always told me she was proud.
