@MrDylancarlson It happens 30 years before the first Alien-film. It's supposed to give you clues on how the classic, black aliens were created, but MOST of all it focuses on "just what the hell were those other dead alien species on that alien ship" in the first film. Which are known by fans and Ridley Scott (the director of this film and the first) as "Space Jockeys". So it's an official movie that uses the Alien-license, but it's also going to try something new.

This is not al "Alien" movie but the last few minutes of the movie apparently lay the foundation for the real "Alien".

ok ok ok alright. can someone please explain to me what this movie in essence is about. from what i've heard is that it sets up the ALIENS movies. I can't be sure whether i'm supposed to be excited or not.

Obviously there are aliens in this movie, I meant the classic Xenomorphs we see in all of the other films.
