@matenzo I was actually just about to correct myself on that note :D it IS in the same franchise but NOT a prequel.. I think it might have something to do with the "Space jockeys" race since there appears to be one in the trailer..

@Hellstorm1190 uhhmmm I doubt it has nothing to do with the alien franchise since the alien ship in the trailer is clearly the same one (or at least one identical to the one) in the original Alien film :P

Prometheus isn't a prequel to alien but it is related to the alien franchise as in that they take place in the same universe.

@errix62 this is not an alien prequel so dont worry. It was supposed to be but Ridley decided to make it an all original story that has nothing to do with the Alien franchise.
