Lee, just for your info, in India, we eat all parts of a banana tree. We serve food on leaves, make salad with flowers, curry with stem, fritters with green banana, eat ripened banana, finally throw it in garden as a fertiliser 😃

I feel so proud of myself. I just started growing a basil plant. I don’t know anything about gardening whatsoever, but it just looked like my plant was struggling at one point and one day I was eating a banana, and I was like “let me just throw this in the soil” and I guess it worked because the basil plant has been thriving ever since. I never knew that banana peels were used as fertilizer. Lol I did something right 💪🏾❤️

I'm just amazed how I managed to not find your channel before. I'm binging it the whole morning. I usually make sort of a tea of banana peels for my plants, but drying and braking it in to powder sounds way better, since you keep basically all the nutrients in it. Only recently discovered your channel, it’s great. I’ve been growing vegetables since I was eleven, helping my father, but only recently became aware of square foot gardening (how dumb was that?😀) Now in my late 60’s with various health issues and disabilities, and recently having moved into a small bungalow, raised beds and square foot gardening are the only way to go for me! Being able to sit and garden, not having to dig over the plot each year, are a godsend. No more strained back! My wife has a dehydrator so all my banana skins are nicely dried and the old coffee grinder has been pressed into service. Just started going through all your videos but can't find one about quantities of banana fertiliser so I've just been sprinkling it on the surface and missing it in with my fingers.
