Apple needs to hire you as their iPad Product Marketer. And I mean this in a good way! ❤

I’m loving my 13” M4 iPad Pro - I need the bigger screen size for productivity tasks, but it’s also fantastic when consuming content. 😊

It’s an interesting conversation. I don’t think there is a right answer. I carried the M1 12.9 for 2 years and really enjoyed it. When the M4 came out I decided to try the 11”. For me, because I use it so much in my truck and I use it both as a tablet and a MB replacement, the 11” wins. At home I use a MBP hooked to a couple of monitors in my office, but it rarely leaves its docking station. It’s funny that last year I was done with the iPad and now it’s my favorite device. I think the size change played into that.

I went for the 13” because I use my tablet for a lot of writing. Novels, podcast episodes, notes, etc. The typing experience on the 13” is far and away the better of the two sizes. I also don’t spend a lot of time on planes or lugging my iPad around town, so the larger size doesn’t bother me much the odd time I do leave the house with it. Plus, the screen size for multitasking is nice and the speakers are better, which make gaming and movies/tv better as well. For all of those reasons, the 13 is the obvious choice and worth the extra couple hundred bucks.

when you go to the larger ipad display you never go back. it becomes a secondary computer. or for some, their primary.

A 12” iPad Pro would be really interesting. It would be the sweet spot between the 11” and 13” sizes and would make a really great companion device. Imagine if Apple came out with that 😂 it would never happen but a very interesting concept.

I'm a heavy note taker, and 11" is just fine.
However, I use 13" since its additional screen real estate functions as a palm rest,
and you don't need to mover around the page (when zoomed) as much as 11".

I use an iPad (now) for a lightweight portable compute experience, so my table is an iPad Pro 11" M4 512 GB with Cellular, a Magic Keyboard, and a Pencil Pro. I can throw it all into a sleeve and compute on the go anywhere there's enough table space to se it down, or I can pull out the tablet and work on that.

My main driver will _always_ be a Mac because of the depth of the experience - my current main driver is a 2020 iMac 5K core-i9 (10910) 128 GB 4 TB AMD Radeon Pro XT 5700 w/16 GB VRAM. This allows for a lot of multitasking with lots of background services running and a big screen with lots of real estate.

When they stop supporting the Intel I'll probably go with a Mac Studio M* Max or Ultra with at least 64 GB RAM and 4 TB SSD with a Studio Display. It'll be sweet to have four or eight Thunderbolt controllers unlike the iMac - which if I'm reading the device tree correctly - only has one going out two USB-C ports.

For me I have found the 11” the best size for me for all of the reasons you mentioned. I am IPad only so when I want to do anything with several apps I use an external model. I still cannot believe the screen resolution on the m4 and the battery life is incredible.

I have the 11 pro now, the old version. I’m handing it down and upgrading. Thinking of another 11 pro but the 13 seems appealing. I will be using it for contract signing. I always thought the 11 was a tad too small but very portable. Thoughts on 13?

Have you noticed that if using keyboard on iPad and universal controlling a mac, the trackpad doesn’t have all the functionality cross platform ?

I think there is one general question, if using it just like laptop relplacement like me go 13 inch, if you have macbok pro go 11 inch, great companion. With weight reduction and thinner bezzels now 13 inch is much more pleasent to use as tablet .

If i use it mainly for studying and taking notes and taking my ipad to college everyday, also i’m a huge fan of movies and games and want to play games with it esp with a controller connected to it which option is the best? I like the 13 inch but i’m afraid it’s not portable to take it to college everyday

I am confused between the M2 Air 13 vs M2 Pro 12.9 vs M4 Pro 13, particularly with screen and refresh rate concerns.

My primary need is for medical webiners and watching medical lectures, note taking and annotating.

If you could help me decide, I am also planning to try the S9 Ultra in store once.

I’ve always been a 11” model guy. I work with my iPad as a PE teacher since the iPad 2. I own the 2020 11” iPad Pro since 2021. Because Apple has made the iPad Pro M4 thinner and lighter, and because I use my iPad Pro as my main device, now I want the 13” model so much. I’m not sure if I would keep my 11” and use both (it’s a cellular model and sometimes I capture video in ultra wide - I know, I must be the only one) and buy the wifi model or if I sell my 11” and buy a cellular M4 iPad Pro. What do you think about it ?
But I forgot to tell the second reason why I don’t have the 13” model : the money. It’s widely more expensive.

I think the beauty of stage manager and similarity of 11 and 13 inch model. Plug it into a bigger screen and you got the same experience.
But the answer is do you like notepads (11)or notebooks (13)

Haha, I literally was having this debate right now. I got the m4 Ipad Pro 11 inch 512 GB last week and…

… I am debating switching it to the 13 inch 256 GB the equivalent but it is just so much money)

So, here is the thing. I like the 11 inch. It is a fine device. It is great! I had a 2018 11 inch as well so I am used to the screen. The speakers are meh on the m4 but overall, it is a beast. The only thing is… I am now contemplating the 13 inch for its screen size and multi tasking/split view abilities. I am not someone who travels with an Ipad, so I do not care portability. I use it in my lap 80 percent of the time or sometimes on a desk (not with a keyboard) and except for the occasional coffee shop trips, it won’t be going anywhere. I also reach for the Ipad more than my MBP. I also want this to last 6-10 years or until it dies because I am not someone who really cares to upgrade all the time.

I just don’t know if going from 512 GB to 256GB is worth the bigger screen size (it would cost 2.1k for the equivalent, ugh.)

What I use it for: Drawing (beginner), photo editing for social media/content creation, content consumption, browsing. I eventually want to maybe create my own sticker/prints shop and draw designs but that is far off and if I do. I also would use it for teaching.

I am planning on going to the apple store tomorrow to look at the 13’s (originally when I went I was so honed in on the 11 because getting a 13 wasn’t even on my mind and I was so sure about the 11.)

Any thoughts?
