12:12 "You'll notice that you can... you can tumble. That's what they call it - tumbling... Tumbellina (more serious voice) Ok now."

Thank you. Im 12 and obviously im a total geek. Ive decide to learn photo and video editing and animating. I dont have the chance to get into such school because there are none in my country and my family doesn't have the funds to pay me for visits in other countries. I will be schooling myself with videos and expirimintation. This is very helpful video. Also I learn to do digital and traditional art. And I have time for learning in school, playing games and learning to program. Yes I have a artistic personality. My school doesn't have alot of people with artistic personality..

Thank you!!!! I am a game design student who has been modeling for 3 years using zbrush, lightwave, and unity... it was helpful to find tutorials explaining the basics when switching to another software

Thank you for this. Coming fresh from intermediate Blender modeling, texturing and animating...and liking to switch to Maya ... i wish i had some of your slow and clean explanations back when I started 3d.  Watched it till the end and thanks to you I´m allready quite comfy now in maya after 2 hours... This is one of the best beginners tutorials i have ever seen. Both for beginning 3d or learning Maya basics. Checked your website as well and it also seems to be great. Thanks again for the effort.

Immediate question for me. How do you at 4:04 enable the option to click and drag to create a cube? I'm using 2016 if that matters at all.

I'm completely new to Maya and been doing a little work getting through the basics. One thing I've noted that's driving me crazy is how to set an object to automatically appear at the center of a grid. In some of the training videos I've watched, when a polygon object is selected from the Shelf, it seem to immediately show up at center of the grid; however, when I selected a shape, I have to drag it and try to center it manually (I believe this is called interactive placement). I would like to learn how to set an object to center without dragging it around unless I have to. Great work on this video, love it, thanks.

Cool! I've recently started my education on 3D animation in a school called PIXL VISN and so far it's been really fun. Some of the students in my class are already pretty familiar with the MAYA program even though we've only just started and I just came here to learn more of the basics since class is already finished for today and I can't wait for tomorrow's next lesson :P I just wanna know as much as I can without having to ask the teachers so often and this video is really helpful. Thanks :)

Thank you for this video. I was using 3DS max 2016, and I must say, dear god was it full of bugs. Not only that, it is super slow and the interface is kinda complex and too much work in order to get to your goal in menus and such. What I try to say is, thank heavens Maya is so much more organized, simple and clean.

im also comming from blender, and to be honest i dont want to change to maya since a MAJOR difference that in blender, you can press G to move whatever is selected.. where in maya you have to use the arrows. you also have the arrows in blender, but i only use it if i want to move it in a spesific axses...

also if i want to move something along an axses i can easily just select, G - X and move. where as here i have to select and click the arrow..

AnimationMethods ur funny though, i like you :)

Do you have any plans of continuing this 2015 series and updating it? So from here I'd imagine you talking about the tools next? Basic modelling of a character or a building maybe?
