I am trained in 3DS max and have to transition myself to Maya for an internship. I didn't know where to start and this was a huge help. Also, it's nice to hear your familiar voice since I have watched some of your Zbrush tutorials in the past. Thank you for this super useful video :)

thats a great headstart. i prefer to hear the most informations about a program before i start any project. i have just a lot experience in blender and now i want to learn 3ds max and maya just to get a foot in the industry

I've tried delving into 3D modelling many times in the past but I could never make sense of how objects are structured under the hood. The bit about nodes and what actually happens when you create or modify an object is the first tutorial I've seen that explains this. Something really clicked when watching this. I rarely comment on videos but I wanted to thank you for that.

For those who can’t afford Maya you can have a free educational licence of the software for 3 years without really being in a vfx school, it’s legal, free and give you access to the full software 👌🏼

Wow iam just amazed watching this tutorial iam new to maya and been going back and forth to different beginner tutorials but none of them helped me so far with the basics but this video gave me a clear picture of the basics of maya so hats off best beginner tutorial so far I've watched. But it would be really helpful if you could share a tutorial with the clear and one focused tutorial on poly modeling.

Un concentré d'informations essentielles developpées avec beaucoup de clarté et bien hiérarchisées... c'est un exploit en si peu de temps !

What a great intro. Perfectly laid out as usual guys! Thanks so much for the intro. Being mainly a blender user for my 3D and having used Maya almost exclusively to resave things in order to use the assets in Blender, this video gave me the confidence to take a much deeper dive into the Maya as a whole. I can't wait to purchase and dig into the full Introduction Maya Series!

Really enjoyed this overview thanks! I would love to see more accessibility visuals here in this video so a visual of the keys and mouse clicks that you use. Without this I am dependent on listening to your instructions and you go through it so fast so I had to keep repeating and going back (faced with ads too). And the last one is to use chapters in your video so I can see what’s in store and skip ahead to what I want to learn about

That Arnold section was great. I stay struggling to >fully< understand it for a while now. It helped.

Good work on this, 8 years using Maya in production and I still learned a few new things. One quick note, you can't batch render without the additional network license. But you can use Render Sequence.
