The future of Terraria Modding is looking bright!

Thanks for featuring our mod! Starlight River is my most successful project by far and we never imagined it would get this kind of reception when we first started. Super grateful for the video you made for it a few months back too - it basically singlehandedly boosted our server to almost 30, 000 members! That’s more than Slime Rancher! I’m really looking forward to see what everything thinks about our better content later on in the game.

Man starlight river looks insane. My most anticipated mod right now, after playing the demo I was instantly hooked. And these new items keep on pulling me to excitement. Can not wait!

Hello! Programmer (and artist sometimes) for Spirit here. Really happy to see the positive reception on the ocean content & the decision to reduce 1.4.3's scope. The update is going to drop so much sooner than it would've otherwise, and we have some really cool stuff in store!

Fun fact: Cloudstrike from Starlight River is a reference to Destiny 2! There's a gun in the game with the same name and kinda functions the same way, the difference is that lightning only strikes when you hit a headshot if I'm not mistaken

Starlight river looks really cool but I can’t ignore the fact that the Cloudstrike Sniper is practically takes direct inspiration from Destiny 2’s cloudstrike sniper rifle which calls a lightning bolt on any headshot kills. It’s just a really cool reference

Starlight River and Spirit are the two I am most excited about aswell. Starlight River looks as revolutionary as ever. Spirits ambience looks incredible and its ocean overhaul is very exciting.
By the way did you know that Spirit mod and its community have been creating a second ost In the style of terraria otherworld, its amazing!

Starlight River is gonna be the most downloaded mod whenever it drops.
And aside from this one and Spirit, I'm exited for the upcoming update of Elements Awoken & the full update of Mod of Redemption.

Great video as always Chippy! More modded news would be great, and fun fact, the first weapon you showed, Cloudstrike, is a sniper from Destiny 2!

I'm so excited that tModLoader is in a place where they are starting a stable branch with scheduled updates, that's the brightest point for the future of Terraria modding. We're finally seeing a place where mods can start being prep'd and eventually made for the latest versions of Terraria and that is something we've needed for a long time (of course with full apprciation to the time it takes and big round of applause to the contributors for the hard work thus far)

I'm surprised that there isn't any dedicated npc mods out there atm and I really want some. Some ideas I have for npc mods:

Make npcs upgradeable like give them equipment that they can use or allow tiers that make them sell better stuff and have better gear on them. Like Witch doctor having a summoner set, tiki staff, more hp and stuff. Would make them useful for bosses instead of dying constantly.

An idea that would be so god damn awesome is if we can get random npcs that can stay at our homes and stuff like the tenants in Starbound. Like they wander in and can decide to stay or leave and they might sell random stuff and give coins for rent.

Another is being able to hire guards to protect your npcs and stuff. Imagine an army that defends your home during invasions and helps with bosses. Would make it easier for players if they want some extra help.

Make a love/friendship meter like the happiness meter but allows extra interactions and other features. Like you romance npcs that give you buffs when nearby, extra dialogue, unique items that you get for free or buy, lower prices, etc. Instead of the npcs just standing around this gives them more life.

Npcs interact with objects, have schedules, etc. to add life to them instead of just walking around their room all day.
