Butter, cream, salt, and whisk attachment on the mixer. Way different result. How I make mine all the time

What on earth posessed them to use a paddle instead of a wire whip? They should know better. Add butter before whipping and add cream or milk as you go. It takes well under a minute for the amount of potatoes they mixed. They aren't gummy but are delicious.

my mom always used butter and milk/cream and a hand mixer to whip them up and they were great.

I use a hand mixer butter, milk salt basically whip them they’re great

You just put it to max speed, and didn't add anything to it.

Try again.

This time, low speed and add butter + heavy cream.

My dad occasionally made them in the food processor for a silky whipped texture. Easily turned to glue if it went even a little bit too long. Chunky skin on is the only way to go
