Converting to slope-intercept form

Missed the previous lesson?

8th grade on Khan Academy: 8th grade is all about tackling the meat of algebra and getting exposure to some of the foundational concepts in geometry. If you get this stuff (and you should because you're incredibly persistent), the rest of your life will be easy. Okay, maybe not your whole life, but at least your mathematical life. Seriously, if you really get the equations and functions stuff we cover here, most of high school will feel intuitive, even relaxing. (Content was selected for this grade level based on a typical curriculum in the United States.)

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

Again, like the comments I see In every Khan Academy math video, you taught better an entire math lesson in 5 minuets, than my math teacher did in 5 days.

Since slope is commonly referred to as rise over run you should have went down two and then over 1, instead of over 1 and then down two.  I know the end point is the same, just one is more commonly used and understood.

Line A. If you are subtracting 4 from both sides, and -8 minus -4 is -4, why is the -8 carried down? Is it because the line must include that "+ b" ? I guess its just confusing because when you subtract the 4, the -8 can't be -8 anymore, or so it would seem! ;)

Why would you go up +4 if at first you did left 1 down 2

For line B, couldn't you make the intercept =0? Idk, probably shouldn't question this guy.

okay I probably sound dumb but that's mainly because this math is higher than my grade so ... WHY IS IN LINE A ITS A -2 ???!! instead of a +2?
