Thank you! Currently flashing Ubuntu to the correct flash drive. Will be booting onto a 2012 Mac Mini in a couple days when it arrives. This was extremely helpful!

Great video. Thank you. I already have HA running as a VM in VirtualBox on a Windows 10 PC. After completing the steps in your video, how do I get my existing HA onto the new machine? Is it just a simple matter of moving it by restoring a backup?

Unfortunately, it was not possible to install
error message after restarting the notebook without the pen drive
1. HDD: UP GAMER UP500 240GB has been blocked by the current security policy

no bootable device, hit and key

Then I am taken to the boot manager screen, where only my 240GB SSD appears in the boot options

My notebook :
ACER Aspire E1-531
intel 100M (1.8GHz, 2MB l3 cache)
4GB DDR3 Memory
HDssd 240GB

Bonjour, merci pour votre video. A quick question I tried with an old laptop with a not UEFI Bios, it did not work. Is IUEFI Bios is mandatory ?

So I just restored the home assistant os on my hard drive from Ubuntu, and now, the computer is stuck in its loading screen” protected by hp sure start”. I couldn’t find the place to disable safe boot, or uefi. Could you help?

Amazing video! I am having a little issue, the pc I got is pretty low end and it is pretty slow, I got stuck at the "please remove the installation medium". I removed it and pressed enter, but it keeps on displaying that message and the little loading symbol

Seriously thinking about this install. Currently running on a Lenovo ThinkCentre i5 Windows 10 VirtualBox VM. I want to get away from Windows 10 for obvious reasons. My question; I would like to install a larger SSD with no operating system, will your method work under this scenario installing Linux in the process or do i just install Linux to start.
Cheers

So basically whatever machine you choose is sacrificed for home assistant? In the end you have to save it to the computer which will erase the OS and everything else that’s on it?

I just don’t understand how either video has all the information. In no way is it your fault, I should have never done this. 10 fucking hours later, I have never made it into home assistant and I now have a laptop with Ubuntu as its main and only os. That shit didn’t “work side by side” with a fucking thing. It’s 2024 why the fuck is it so hard to download a god damn APP? This is fucking insane, all to control some mother fucking lights WHAT THE FUCK!
