Johnson to speak on his newest publication, Mansfield and Dirksen: Bipartisan Giants of the Senate , on Wednesday, September 13th at noon. Johnson has worked as a broadcast journalist, a top aide to Idaho’s longest serving Governor Cecil D. Andrus, and as a crisis management and communication consultant. American political history has long been his passion.

Johnson is the author of Tuesday Night Massacre: Four Senate Elections and the Radicalization of the Republican Party and Political Hell-Raiser: The Life and Times of Senator Burton K. Wheeler of Montana. Johnson’s latest book – Mansfield and Dirksen: Bipartisan Giants of the Senate – explores the personal and political relationship between two of the Senate’s most important 20th Century leaders.
