Leather goods designer here: I always found it very peculiar the Birkin was such a coveted handbag, considering everyone I've seen wore it like how it is shown in the video. As someone who designs handbags, that's a tell tale sign of poor design, if it's impractical to close/open while maintaining sufficient security. The ideal bag should be convenient for the user to enter and close, but safe enough so a thief does not have easy access to it: think magnetic snaps, zippers, and turn locks are of great practical design, etc.

I find it a bit silly to want a bag only to wear it the opposite the way it was intended. But of course, to each their own. I just think the overall design is very poorly thought out 😅

Have you ever seen the woman who created/designed these bags? And how she wears/uses them? She ABSOLUTELY DOESNT GIVE AF she uses them up, stuffs them full of stuff and always leaves it open. I honestly love it, she uses the bag the way she intended, to hold all of her things.
