Family of woman killed by sharks recalls daughter's last moments

The family of Jordan Lindsey, 21, who died in the Bahamas, spoke exclusively to "GMA" about the changes they want to see to protect other people from sharks.

Very distasteful the way this segment begins with laughter.

They didn’t have shark spotters. The boat arrived with no medical equipment. They didn’t even do a tourniquet. How can they say “all reasonable steps were taken” and “our staff responded...in line with our emergency protocols and procedures.”

I went to highschool with her and her girlfriend. They were two peas in a pod. She sat behind me in Physical Science Freshman year. I would always bug her about notes and borrow her pen. She was always the sweetest and most tender soul. Rest in Paradise Jordan

OMG my daughter is 21 now…and I can’t even imagine what the mother went through trying to save her daughter and feeling completely helpless, while her daughter was being attacked. The horror the daughter felt being attacked. I hope the mother finds peace someday. What ever religion you believe in, I believe there is more after this life, and Jordan is there, with all our loved ones who have died.

I can’t imagine being in her mother’s shoes. I recall my loved ones on a private beach going a little too far out for my comfort. I sat and watched, thinking the worst. Nothing happened but it felt so scary to me despite the shallow water.

This poor family and as a mother witnessing this horrific loss of ones child I just cant imagine. That tour company was not prepared for a medical emergency and how they can still be operating is beyond me💔

Her mom is a hero. She did everything she could, including risking her own life, to try to save her daughter. I hope she can find peace. Condolences to the whole family.

Imagine being a mother and seeing your daughter yell out “MOM” I cannot even imagine the pain in hearing and seeing her suffer in fear with you not being able to do anything!!! My life would be over.

What a sensational and loving mother who's bravery knew no bounds.. I'm deeply sorry they lost their precious daughter in such a horrific way.. just cannot imagine it.. my young daughter drowned and the PTSD from that is bad enough. Bless the parents and bless beautiful Jordan 😓🙏
