Показать описание
Sonya Massey was killed by an Illinois sheriff's deputy after being shot three times inside her home.
Massey called 911 after fearing an intruder in her home. Newly released body-cam footage shows Massey ducking and apologising for telling the officers 'I'll rebuke you in the name of Jesus' seconds before one officer shot her in the face. Sangamon county sheriff’s deputy Sean Grayson has pleaded not guilty to the charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and official misconduct. If convicted, he faces a prison sentence of 45 years to life for murder
The text above was amended on 23 July 2024. An earlier version said Sonya Massey was killed by "Illinois state police". In fact, as the text goes on to say, the accused officer was from Sangamon county sheriff's office. It was the ISP that released the footage and which conducted an investigation into the shooting.
