My 2016 F150 2.7 had 87k miles when I dropped the pan and change the filter yesterday. The fluid was pretty dark but both magnets were not too dirty. The dealer gave me the wrong filter. My filter has 2 pipes and cost $73. I parked my truck on ramps and check the fluid. There was a little fluid on the stick. When I was done changing the filter. There was a little bit more fluid on the stick. The truck run fine and I'm happy.

Thanks for reading service manual. That’s what I found on the net but want to be sure.
I went in a trip (highway driving) & had the temp garage up in the dash. Just wanted to see how long it got to operating temp. Took about 40 minutes. I can only imagine how long it would take while idling.
