I love how he mentioned that he couldn't tell a weight difference between the two laptops when the LG is a whole pound lighter, but when he did the review between the 15 MBA and the 14 MBP he said the pro was "much heavier" when that laptop was only .2 pounds heavier, which isn't even half a pound more than the 15 MBA. 😂

I bought myself a 15" Air yesterday. Absolutely loving it so far. I had always been hesitant about a 15" laptop, feeling that it might be too large. I realised while using my old Intel Air 13" and other 13" laptops that it never sat properly on my lap - and I just put up with it. Even a 14" laptop I tested from work didn't feel right. It felt amazing with the 15" Air on my lap - it fits perfectly and feels like I'm sitting at a mini desk, which is absolutely brilliant when I am doing a long writing stretch, I don't have to constantly sit at a desk now haha! I can't fault anything - well worth the money. IMO.

You can also log into your Mac with an Apple Watch. Windows technically has the ability to use the proximity of your cell phone, but I never found that to work quite right.

The LG with Thunderbolt can use an external video card. Nice advantage.

As an LG Gram user for 5 years I can say that despite the flex on these machines they are very durable. I have dropped them, put weight on them and there are zero issues. They are Military Standard so I would stick up for LG there.

Also, I am not sure the 15-inch comes with OLED. In the UK it is only on the 16-inch. That is the style version that has the haptic trackpad. That is £2650 so a lot more, but you get 2TB/32GB which if the MB Air had that spec would not be far off that price. I got it on pre-order at under £2000 along with a free monitor.

I would say the LG Gram is fantastic as an ultrabook but like most Intel, the iGPU is getting on and if you have GPU-intensive tasks, it does not compete as well with Macs.

You guys should integrate AV1 and VP9 encode/decode testing into your video editing benchmarks, and maybe also test Handbrake/FFmpeg, I would appreciate it. The M2 series don't have hardware encode/decoders for those codecs yet, I'm curious about how much that hurts the M2/Pro/Max/Ultra compared to Intel/AMD/Nvidia.

I disagree on the keyboards. I used to like full travel keys, but over the last 20 years of using both desktops and laptops daily, I’ve found I much prefer a shorter travel key-switch. A solid keyboard with little flex, crisp tactile feel, and short travel (~2mm) is very easy to type on with minimal stress on your fingers and carpel tunnel. Apple’s modern keyboards are some of the best and few Windows laptops are comparable.

Except you can get a very slightly older LG Gram 15 for $500 that works great for nearly anyone with regular everyday computer needs. And yes, the Gram is in fact a lot lighter than the MBA 15.
