This is kinda true I heard about this that asking for subs will turn people away so I tested that and it is indeed true its best to just say thanks for watching or Like the video for more or just send them to a different Video

I wait to the very end of my videos to ask for likes and subscribes. I do it this way because I would rather the content speak for itself and then if someone likes it they can do the aforementioned likes and subs.

It's a good point but a lot of companies still look at sub count to decide if they will give you a brand deal or not. Or how GOOD a brand deal you get from that company.

As I make long form content, it's annoying to have triple the monetization watch time and not enough subscribers, but it's true that likes are way more important. It's also actually bad to have subscribes who don't watch your content as they get the first impressions of your videos...

Your subs boost your vids though if they have notifications on. It makes it easier for a vid to go viral.
