Out of the group that tries to film Jean Jacket (OJ, Em, Angel, and Antlers Holst), I'd argue that Angel is the most sympathetic. When the group is making their plan, Angel points out that by obtaining video proof of Jean Jacket, they can warn the public and prevent anyone else from dying. Antlers is motivated, as a filmmaker, to get the "impossible shot" while OJ and Em primarily want to sell the footage to assuage their financial woes. Angel is the one who seems most concerned with saving people.

When watching this scene I thought I was about to witness one of the most graphic death scenes ever

Did you know, Jordan Peele liked Brandon Perea so much that he changed the script around to better suit Perea‘s interpretation of Angel. I heard in another article that Angel was not originally meant to survive. He was going to be eaten by Jean Jacket. I think they came up with the barbed wire as a last minute solution so that the character could survive. I honestly feel like they allowed Angel to survive because Perea was just so good in the role. Might sound silly, but he was probably my favorite character in this movie. Big props to Brandon Perea for making such a believable and realistic character.

Seeing how Angel managed to survive by using the barb wire, I wonder if the other people would survive if they had sharp objects and all just stab at its inside

Idk if anyone has noticed this interesting detail yet about Jean Jacket, but if you look closely at his design, you can see that he has a slit in the middle of his Saucer Form and that's his viewing point to look and at 0:29 he turns to look at Angel (who's looking at him)

And the entire scene at 0:37, he's staring at Angel (who we're in the perspective of) and he doesn't stop looking at him until he's around the hillside.

I didn't think I could get so scared of a UFO before, until now.

I still can’t get over that scene where after the crowd is sucked up, it shows them in this tight and claustrophobic space where they’re screaming for help but absolutely no one can hear them. All for them to be crushed and digested by this mammoth of a creation from Jordan peels brain.
