Seamless texture for pattern stamp and fill in Photoshop

The pattern stamp tool and pattern fill are great tools for filling in areas of an image, like grass or skin. It helps to have a seamless texture to work with. This tutorial shows you how to create your own, then how to use it with the pattern stamp tool so you can paint your texture, or the fill tool so you can fill an area with it.

It's so hard with certain patterns because they don't always match right with content-aware fill. Thank you so much for the video! I ended up using a whole background for a 2D pixel art game as a pattern so it can be used as a paint tool pattern elsewhere!

It would be so useful if we can use a linked smart object as a pattern. The problem with this method for me is that whenever I update the source of the pattern, I need to re-create it.

holy crap man slow the hell down, this is supposed to be a tutorial but you just blast through this way too quickly. You have to give people time to follow along I had to stop and go back int he video several times already.
