Photoshop now has a Pattern Preview option in the View menu, which is incredibly powerful for doing this and saves having to mess about with offsets.

I need to do this with a background I made that looks like wrinkled fabric. I tried the clone but that messed up the wrinkles and looked awful. Since I can't copy a section, like you did in this video, do you have any ideas?
