Hello Everyone! Thank you for visiting my channel! In this video, I show how I completed a very special Christmas baby quilt using my FREE Brick and Mortar Quilt Pattern. I used a small fat quarter bundle that I had already cut into, but thank goodness I had enough. 😅 I am not a pattern writer but I hope these measurements and instructions help and that the video tutorials are helpful. These fabrics were cut into 2 1/2" strips in various lengths that I call my "Bricks". The beginning center brick square was 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". My "Mortar" fabrics were Red by Kona cut into 1 1/2" strips. The red was also used for the binding and a plaid flannel for the backing. I appreciate you for stopping by! 💚🌳

I would love to see what you create! Please use #brickandmortarquilt to show your creation on social media and please tag @OxygenFarmQuilts !

This is an adorable baby quilt. I just got a new grandson three days ago. I’m gonna have to do something like this for him.

I have learned to use masking tape this year and it works great! I sew on either side of it and then reuse it to make the next lines.

I am thinking I am going to sew the 1 1/2" long strip to the 2 1/2 " long strip for more efficient sewing. This is really cute.

Love this project. Could you have attached the long “mortar” strip to the long “brick” strip and attach them as a single strip? This technique would be a great scrap buster. You have some lucky grand babies.

It’s very cute. You could even keep going and make it larger I’m sure.

Hello, beautiful work! What sewing machine are you using? Do you also embroider?

This is really cute. I can see using this method to make a quilt-as-you-go quilt, starting in the center of your batting plus backing. Squaring up could be done by using your plastic square and drawing lines on the fabric already sewn to line up the next round. For a baby quilt this should be manageable. Then, all that's left is trimming and binding. You could start with any size fussy cut center square. I'm excited to give this a try after all my holiday guests return to their homes.
