I have a 96 Ford F150 with 5.0L Windsor V8 with 203, 452 miles on it and it's still going strong. The only thing I replaced on my truck was the starter but other than that mostly was just simple maintenance and cleaned out the transmission fluid just to get rid of the shuttering it was making and it hasn't had a problem ever since.

I kinda regret getting rid of my 2003 Toyota solara with 230000 miles but let's see how long my Toyota Prius will go. I'm hopping to get to at least the same mileage as the solara.

226 that’s a joke. My dad had a 1997 Chevy 1500 with 526000 on the original engine. Only reason we don’t have it is someone stole it. So we got another one in 09 with 96k. Now it has 480000

any car could reach the 200, 000 mile plateau but theres a catch... you just simply have to be sensitive with its needs. in other words... take care of it like its one of your own... like a member of the family that is. or treat it like a buddy... and for that it will last longer and will reward you greatly by taking you from point A to point B with no hassles.

I drive a lot, on average 40, 000 to 43, 000 miles annually. With some TLC and following the owner's manual maintenance schedule, I routinely get 350, 000 miles on my cars. Most car owners skimp on maintenance and end up with premature repairs or they think once a car has 70-80, 000 miles its automatically time to get a new car. When its time for me to replace my car, I buy a one or two year old car coming off a lease. I let the first owner take the hit on depreciation and I save even more money.

This whole video is just common sense to car-stupid people. They should add
- allowing your car to idle for 15-30 seconds on a cold start before taking off
- allow your car to idle for 5-10 seconds before turning it off
- make sure the engine is at operating temperature before driving hard
-tons more tricks

people take this milage thing to the extreme, most people not critizing anyone for lack of skills but it's true they get taught miles this miles is a reflection of the cars over all state, however most of the time if a car is taken care if mileage isn't a object. a brand new car can go without care and maintenance and run horrible compared to a 20 year old car that has been well maintain so milage is a target to scare people into trading etc. big picture take care of ur shit. and watch them numbers roll, u gotta realize parts wear new or old. ur going to have a replacement part one day. thsts just the way car manufacturers build them. giant aftermarket.
