How a Small Engine Carburetor Works (Float Type)

In this video I go over the basic understanding on how a float type small engine carburetor works. I also explain the different parts of the carburetor that may be handy if you are rebuilding or cleaning a carburetor yourself. This particular carburetor is off of a 6 HP Briggs and Stratton generator engine. I hope this video is helpful!

What a nice simple description of a carb, its parts, and how it works. I never knew, and now I feel like I understand how they work. Thank you.

Excellent descriptive video, thanks ! I just used this to disassemble and clean a 5.5 Hp engine on an old pressure sprayer that I picked up in a junk sale and it is now running perfectly.

Good video! Thank you! My daddy taught me all this 50 years ago when I helped him with his small engine repair side business. Unfortunately, I haven’t used much of those teachings in the 50 years since. I’ve recently needed this refresher.

Obsolutly excellent tutorial my friend. Ive been involved in small engine repair for years now and this video is one of the the best I've ever seen. Their simple parts but o so crucial. Thanks for sharing and keep the videos coming.

The section where you move from showing us where the jet is to explaining that a carburetor works off a vacuum is spot on terrific. My snow blower's carburetor is the only one I've ever had to work on, and that explains a lot.

Just got into Coleman Mini Bikes, and this video answered every question I had. Newer Colemans come with an EPA Jet Screw that can't be removed (sloped so it can only be tightened). It is separate from the bowel screw.

Very good video, lots of information presented in a pleasant clear voice. He knows what he wants to say before he turns the camera on! No "UH, UH, UH, UH, UH, UMM, UMM, UMM" or the "GO AHEAD AND" catch phrase every six words. Just facts! We need more like this. Subscribed.
