IM 50 as a youngster in the uk I was top of class in mathematics. by 11 years old through bullying, bad circumstances i gave up on all learning, We began algebra but the teacher never madeany effort to explain the importance of it i fell behind so badly, its great at this age to go back and explore these concepts. Solve, if X is 2 and y is 10

3x + y =

In algebra, we don't use times symbol it looks too much like the variable X, we use •, parentheses, or simply just put the numbers next to eachother.

So
3x + y =

3 • 2 + 10 = 16

Or
3(2)+10=16
