Trousseau’s sign

If the arm is compressed by BP cuff for 1-4 minute, thumb become adducted, fingers stiffened and flexed forming a cone clustered about the thumb ( obstetrician’s hand or accoucheur’s hand). It is an important sign of latent tetany due to hypocalcemia. It can be increased and accelerated by hyperventilation
