Yeah my home is near the Virginia / west Virginia border. 300 acres of forest surround my home. I've heard all kinds of stuff in the woods. Walked out of the front door into a bear once. When growing up here a hunter stopped by and said a bear was watching us play in the yard. I went to get my mail late in the evening and heard something big in the woods. I walked near the sound and upset something because it snorted at me. Most likely a large deer. I've seen a hairy-like creature twice here. Once when we lived in a two story home that was at the edge of the woods. Our dog was barking at something breaking tree limbs in the woods behind the house. I saw it walking out the road in the moonlight. The next morning there were two and three inch diameter limbs broken at least fifteen feet up in the trees. The other time my cousin and we were shooting a BB gun near the woods. We were setting up bottles. When my cousin shot the bb ricochetted and hit something in the woods. It had been standing there watching us the whole time and we didn't notice it until it moved. It was large dark like a shadow. It had huge arms and was standing down in the woods about five to six feet and we were standing up on the hillside and it was still taller than us. I've never been as scared, I froze when it moved. We finally managed to run to my grandfather's house. He went back with a rifle but couldn't find any trace of what we saw. I've seen bears and what I saw was no bear that day. I don't get out in the dark here anymore, it's too dangerous being by myself.

If I was camping and witness this that would be the last time I would be camping.

What are the odds that the first creature was a dogman and the scream was from a Bigfoot telling it to back off

How messed up would it be to see some terrifying monster coming at you only for something even more terrifying that you cant see scaring it away. You'd probably get instant relief and a feeling like you were being protected, only in reality being claimed by a more dominant species.

I had a cousin that used to dress up as Big Foot and would scare campers. Being nearly 7ft tall, he had a blast being a nuisance untill cought and given comunity service. I do think he's so lucky that a gun nut wasn't amoung those he gave a good cage rattling.

I had a bigfoot encounter in clairton pa. Last summer. I went to someone's house to hang out an hour outside of Pittsburgh . I went for a walk by myself for a couple hours. I crossed through the woods to get back quickly so my friends would not leave me there. And two bigfoots escorted me out of the woods. One threw accorns at me and the other one was breaking branches and making a ruckus on the path I was gonna go. I ran over the hill scared for my life now and saw my friends leaving the house and they didn't believe me

I live in northern West Virginia. A small country setting. I can remeber in high school and I’ll never forget walking home that one night around 1am on a country road and seeing a giant. I mean giant creature walking like a dog but bending in some crazy ways. Something you’d see out of a movie. My hair is still standing up. Multiple buddies of mine had quite similar encounters. heard the craziest growl/roar while leading a university backpacking trip in the northern section of the Dolly Sods wilderness. sounded so close and angry it made me jump but not a damn thing could be seen anywhere and there wasn't exactly much for something that sounded so large to be hiding behind. I'm a biologist and experienced backcountry guide but that was no bear or mountain lion, never heard anything like it before

I saw this myself. the difference was that I didn't see horns but instead it had large teeth sticking up from its lower jaw. I giant shaggy dog that when it walked it went up on its hind legs. I was driving home to NC from Chicago and took a wrong turn out of a gas station to get back on the interstate near the WV/VA border. It was about 1 am and there was no cars around just a lone gas station attendant that I was lucky was still open Nothing but good vibes until I realized I was winding up a narrow road up a mountain rather than getting back on the interstate. My GPS stopped working and after a few minutes I was looking for a place to turn around and head back the way I came. It was narrow, no street lights and steep drop offs in the right side and steep rock cliff on the left. Finally I saw a little gravel shoulder or maybe a drive way to turn around and pulled in head first. As I turned into what turned out to be like a scenic overlook or picnic area my headlights shown on a huge what I thought was at first a giant sheep dog as it was walking past the front of the car it started wiggling and I noticed the front legs were coming off the ground as it started to speed up into the woods. Before it got in the trees it looked at me and was all the way up on its hind legs that were longer than the front legs. I quickly made the turn by backing out and turning back down the road from which I came. But my head was firing off all kinds of confused signals about what I was seeing. And just before I started to gun it down the road I stopped and said out loud, "What is that?! What the hell is that?!" I rolled down my window for somereason and tried to peer into the woods from the direction I came to see it one more time. Something felt really off and I got really scared and got the heck out of there. I didn't think about anything else but driving till I was on the Interstate and then my mind kind of broke for a second trying to figure out what I just saw. The fur or what ever it was was kind of in what looked like dread locks. It was white except it has redish eyes and a black stubby snout with huge sharp teeth jutting out from the bottom. It was super long and kind of wiggled when it walked which raised it up to its hind legs. A few days later I told a friend about it and they sent me a link to a book about the West Virginia White thing. The cover was a drawing about the beast and it looked very similar. The legend I read said that natives though it was a sign of an approaching death. I made it to Charlotte that night and the next day I starting making my way to Wilmington on the coast. I came very very close to getting stuck in flood waters lost on backroads on the way home again about 1 am. If it wasn't for me hearing the water coming and doing the fastest three point turn ever, I don't know what would have happened to me deep in the woods on a closed road that was quickly flooding with a storm surge, in the pitch black alligator infested waters. But I didn't put the two events together until thinking about much much later.

Born in raised in West Virginia. I saw something in the woods when I was 6 years old(1992) in Boone County, WV. I won't pretend to know what it was, but all I know is that it's not a animal that's in any database that I've ever found..
