When I was in eight grade, my parents took me camping in Florida. I don't remember the campground name but it was about 25 miles south of Lakeland Florida. Since it was mid-November, we were the only campers in the entire campground. Every night, a couple racoons would raid our trash can and make a racket. On the third night about two hours after getting in our sleeping bags we were awoke by the racoons. My 50+ year old man decided he'd had enough and jumped out of his sleeping bag to teach them a lesson. He hollers to me to grab the flash light. Too bad we didn't have cell phones back then because I could have got a hilarious video of my old man in his boxer shorts and wife-beater t-shirt chasing the two racoons. After a couple minutes, the larger racoon had turned and was chasing my dad. I'll never forget that sight!

As a 4th year camp host I am Astounded every week by the self centered, lack of common sense, stupidity some campers do.

It always amazes me how so many people don't have a shred of common sense or decency.

After listening to some of your stories, you two should protect yourself. Back in the 70's we were robbed at gunpoint while camping in a remote area in Mexico. three men walked into our campsite and pointed a gun at me from about ten back while was standing there in a wet suit. Nowadays, when someone comes near our RV I have my wife stay inside, armed with our 12 gauge pump shotgun, if I go outside I am always carrying a concealed pistol.

Your doggie and kitty are soooo gorgeous. Watching them lying there on the bed in the background chilling out. 😊🙏💖 How precious are they😘 You two guys are pretty cute too. What a lovely couple. Bless you both, and your fur babies😇

I can assure you that you are not alone with these kinds of encounters. I think being non confrontational is a good approach as there are some real hot heads out there

You guys are much better then I.... My blood is boiling listening to your stories. I would loose my $hit.... The problem with these people is that no one corrects them or addresses them and they just keep on doing it. It's a me... me... me... society, no regard for anyone but themselves. It makes you really appreciate when you have a positive encounter with good people.

I had a similar situation with a viewpoint near my campsite with people walking into camp. I used the panic button on my truck to watch them scamper. One heavy middle-aged lady nearly fell trying to run away, very amusing.

When we drag raced we had trouble with people parking in our pit parking when my husband was going down the track. So we got a couple orange cones and put them out in our parking spot, this did the trick. Maybe you could try some orange cones.

Some people will be rude waiting for someone to say something they do this to start a confrontation and sometimes they go violent.

Your first story is a perfect example of how civilization is ending in the United States. An environment has been created there people believe they can do what ever they like with total disregard for others as long as they get what they want. The part that enables this behavior is the exponential increase in violence in situations that one would never expect it. One can never know when a simple conversation will escalate into an armed encounter. The idea that might makes right has been embraced by large portions of the populations. You did the right thing by not putting you life on the line over a campsite but unfortunately that is what they are counting on. You also did the right thing by not leaving and standing your ground.

Thank you so much for not showing footage of Crazy Cheryl. Very classy of you to not make an obviously troubled person's life worse.

Great weird encounter stories! I put up 48 feet of portable dog kennel fencing around my travel trailer to keep people and their little dogs on retractable leashes out of my space so my dog "Cujo" doesn't eat the little ankle biters.

After hearing all these stories I am determined more than ever to just use official campgrounds with a host. You pay for the peace of mind.
