Have we become obsessed with our emotions and mental health? Are we focusing too much on happiness instead of pursuing our goals?

I think we are sitting and feeling too much, and actively doing stuff too little.

Yes. A big cause of why people are so mentally unhealthy these days is that so many believe that the default state for a person should be euphoria, which is obviously unsustainable and leads to high-risk behavior and a constant craving for attention.

The only true objective everyone should have, is to be at peace with oneselves in their own thoughts in silence. Not to silence your doubts or emotions beneath ephemeral joy, but to control them and accept yourself and the cards you were dealt.

I think we as a people have become too obsessed with doing for ourselves and not enough about doing for others. Service to others brings self satisfaction with oneself.

Acheving your goals finishing your tasks. Thats what brings happiness. Stagnating in the mind set of Im not happy. Brings destruction.

Older generations, when suffering a loss, for example, went to work, did things to make them busy, etc. Now we are told we should sit and talk it over and over and over with a counselor. The older generations moved on, the new way causes increased anxiety, suffering, since they continue to dwell on the loss.

It's certainly possible to be too much in your feelings. I really worry for the younger generation with their early exposure and frequent use of social media for acceptance and attention.

Simple answer: we have no real struggles so the mind creates a problem to solve. That's it

Yes we are obsessed with our feelings, getting wrappped up in our own ego so much we forget to care and make real life connections, I guess the mental health is getting worse cause people now, specially the young dont know how to interact with real humans, its all about screen time.we are becoming soulless.

i've been saying this a lot to my friends. similarly, taking pictures of everything you do and everywhere you go is obsessive and takes away from just enjoying things in the moment for yourself so that you can act on some fetish of needing to document or share all of your personal experiences, no matter how insignificant.

Bjorn, thank you. This is a most perfectly timed message for me, in a most natural, serendipitous, divinely directed way. You have heard my thoughts' voice.

Never really considered this. But I do know, for me, when I separated myself from being on line for 6 hours a day and cut back to one hour my life became lighter and .y path more mentally rewarding. Your mention of the definition of happiness hit the nail on the head. Breaking free made my purpose and goals much clearer and my feelings fell back into the proper proportions. This little offering very valuable. Thank you

Most people don't have that kind of freedom like in Scandinavian countries like Norway. It is very easy to walk in the forests up there but southern countries have a very industrial landscape with mostly mass industrial farming that depresses people.
Trees are very important for mental health but in most places humans rather removed them for money than preserve them for happiness.

Hope to see you round the campfire this weekend. The whole wellbeing crap has gotten out of control, all it really shows is we're completely out of touch with what we should be doing.

The world has been through the biggest psy-op in history. Families and friends have been deliberately split apart. People have been forced out of jobs, experienced discrimination, social isolation, financial hardship, illness and death of loved ones. And still the psy-op and agenda continues. People have had to figure out what is going on at so many different levels as well as continuing to function in ‘normal’ life. So no I don’t think people are too focused on mental health issues and emotions. I think people have been pushed to their absolute breaking limits and if someone has been awake through this and managed to maintain their sanity I applaud them.

Yep people sitting around not doing anything...going bush. into nature, walk on the beach...and even working...I have found people do not know how to give hospitality, service anymore...with those manners we were taught. nothing...then their brain is over active with junk from computers, smart phones, tech taking up their lives...people do not seem to live nowadays...thanks Bjorn for sharing...

I agree, facts don't matter it's all about they feel.

I think people are bored but when they travel their minds are more occupied on seeing and experiencing new things❤❤

There are days I reflect my own mental health of what goes on around me. Normally I go split some firewood and I feel better.

People that post how they feel online are either crying for help or wanting attention
