In this video I wanted to talk about the people who are not smart enough to escape wage slavery. People who are to old or somehow incapable of starting their own business or creating assets that generate passive income. What do you do if you can't escape the 9-5 rat race?

I’ve been a wage slave my whole life. I wish I had been more aware when I was young enough to do something about it. But I am glad to see that younger folks waking up to the fact that working for corporate entities or bad bosses is in fact a kind of slavery. I had not taken a vacation longer than a week in twenty years until recently. Now that I am older I am taking longer trips and more trips, because now that I am entering old age my time is very short.

There is also too exhausted metally and physically.

The sad reality is that even if some wage slaves start a business or become an entrepreneur then they will give job to others and make them wage slaves.

There is too much productivity…too many useless things just to make money.

I’m 27 I finished high school but did not go to college because I did not know what I want to do. I still don’t know what to do with my life, I’m lost. I work for a major car insurance company and I hate the job. Also having adhd does not help the situation, I want to go back to school but I’m scared I’ll fail due to my adhd it’s hard to retain new Information and it takes me longer than others to learn things. All I know is I don’t want to do these jobs…

Just discovered your channel today. I'm on social security disability insurance for serious chronic mental illness (schizophrenia) and congestive heart failure. Sometimes people tell me I am lucky in that I don't have a job and have a state sponsored disability pension and free health care. Sadly, they may be right. Sure my health is gone, I have no children, and I will probably die young. But I don't have to worry about my meals or health care. Some people, including my own family, think people on disability are drains on society and should be forced to rely on churches and private groups.

Recently met a guy who is totally self employed (so far as working for cash) and he basically goes to people's homes - people like myself, housewifes etc to sort out their 'software' problems - so he does not need an office and charges £40 per hour and lives as free as a bird - he seemed to be very happy

Genetically youre supposed to live longer than 100, not crippled. What we eat, drink, wear and breath is enshortening

Understanding who you are and discipline is key. I was fortunate to have been able to watch my last employer start and grow a successful business and have as a mentor. Proximity to business minded people who are driven and their philosophies are contagious.

Since I was 14 I would always tell people that I dont think humans were ment to live this way. Or at least I was not made to live this way. Im so tired ive been working a full time job since i was 14 years old. And im done. Im literally ready to leap off the edge into oblivion and be done with all of it.

Thank you for the excellent video! I only recently discovered your channel but I appreciate that you have maintained your straightforward style from the start. Too many YouTubers adopt the overproduced clickbait format.

The persistent training and experience gained towards the life you dream of is an ideal way to live each day.

I love this video. I have always said this, not everyone has the same brain or energy. We have different archadian rhythms and different struggles.

Loved the Zelda reference. It will be easier for me the process of achieving something having that perspective as I’m a Zelda fan. Thanks Tom 🛡️

Yes as an author (crescent crown saga) and musician (frailin’ hearts) I am most happy being creative… it’s a labor of love. It’s still work don’t get me wrong, but it is something that I enjoy doing, writing stories and music. I looked at my first stories, drawings, and songs recently when I was little and it’s cute and a good reminder that we all start somewhere! If you’re trying something new, give yourself grace.

Hi Tom, I think people dont lack motivation or goals to escape wage slavery, I think the issue is that they dont know what steps to take to reach their goal of escaping wage slavery. Also people lack the financial management skills to be able to effectively manage money and get their money to work for them as opposed to working for money. The educational system I believe on purpose doesn't teach anything about personal financial management, the system wants us to go to school to learn to be a wage slave to serve the elite! I also agree with you that escaping wage slavery is a process, and you need to take small steps to work towards it, I think everyone can escape wage slavery one small step at a time.

38 years old and didn't escape wage slavery. I failed college several times and decided not to take out more debt. I have worked at Target since I was 22 and while I am underpaid, I kind of live here lol. I work 73 hours a week and my wife and I pay the apartment rent. I also met my wife at Target because she works there too. We don't want kids anyway, so there's no sense in worrying about the fact my wife is 51 years old.

I used to own a business and it did better than i ever expected. Working a 9 to 5 literary felt like a vacation for me compared to that hahaha. So not sure i would call that an eacape... i dont think an escape exists other than changing your perspective
