RG35XX Plus | Customizing the Stock OS

Hey guys I did it. I FINALLY deleted that hideous goodbye screen. It was a mission and a half to get it done but its done. I also changed a couple of things I wanted to change. So here are the results of my work.

Changes to this Stock OS.
-Boot Screens
-Loading Screens
-Shutdown Screen (AKA GOODBYE)
-System Font
-Backgrounds
-Pre Loaded with Boxart for Tiny Best Set Go!

This is not a tutorial, but I will provide details on I did it. Basically, you have to install a Linux os. I used Ubuntu and get that going. It's quite a process. Once that is done you'll have to mount that partition to be able to edit some of the files. The files are also in a very specific folder.

Despite it being an annoying process. I was definitely worth it.

Hey guys, My image is done. Get it here!!
Download and flash with any flashing software. Rufus is my favorite.
Remember to expand Roms partition to the size of your SD Card.

Any way to disable the Game Room? I never use it. I always use the Retroarch Room. I also find the stock Game Room useless because it lists ALL systems, even though I only have roms for a total of 8 systems.

Any chance I could provide you some images and art and you could package them for me? My wife is really wanting to get this customized but doing a VM box and mounting the drive is causing some headache. Or at least a tutorial would be awesome. Thank you!

Very cool. I've got an Odin Lite and I've been spending a buch of time just making different backgrounds for it. I'm also going to make some Retroarch backgrounds.
It's too bad that on this device it's not as simple as just dragging the new images into a specific folder.

Dude i am a graphic designer but no access to a Linux or Windows system, I got the sp clone anbernic and am wanting to make it look better with custom logos, any chance you could make a video showing me how you did it? I like the stock os, just not a fan of the art

Have you heard anything about the development of alternative OSes for this model? I think in a month or two something should appear. Is the architecture much different from the previous model?

also, maybe icons that match each or one of the backgrounds you make? so something kind of pokemon-ish for the pikachu? I'm personally a fan of darker backgrounds like the brick.

yeah, changed everything too, its easy, just to put files to linux root, but im misisng scummvm icon (tried to add it) on stock os..:/

Couldn't you just install SSH on the stock OS, which would give you access to the entire filesystem? That would give you SFTP access as well as terminal access for those who know what they are doing?

I desperately wish it was easier to change out the theming and visuals on the stock os.

Impressive work man!
I would definitely appreciate if you share the image ready to flash it.
In my humble opinion I would try backgrounds with solid color like the Pikachu ones or the one with brick wall just so it won’t interfere with the text.
The Sonic one looks great but you can’t read the text.
Where can we share some images with you?
I’ve seen a few boot logos packs from GarlicOS that are compatible the the StockOS if you don’t mind using that!
