Unexpected Findings: Anbernic RG35XX H/+ Modified Stock OS Comparison

To date the most optimized Firmware for the Anbernic RG35XX H/+ is exactly the opposite of everything we have come to know to be true in past Emulation Handhelds. This is the first series of devices we have seen continued support directly from Anbernic and it’s currently out pacing developers of custom firmware builds. Don’t get me wrong it’s far from perfect, not recognized like GarlicOS, not nearly as pretty as Batocera Koriki or simplified as much as MuOS. It’s pretty basic though getting visual improvements and most importantly optimized to use all the features of the handhelds efficiently.

What if I told you the most optimized firmware for the Anbernic RG35XX devices right now is the StockOS that comes with your device… or the StockOS after you update it anyways?

I've tried most of them but i prefer Batocera v40 for now.

I have a RG35XX Plus. IMO Batocera with its slow start up and battery eating traits, it’s a no-go for me. I really liked MinUI, and no dreamcast im OK with but no NDS is a deal breaker for me. MuOS loads quick, has AMAZING performance and high emulation customizability. Currently Im sticking to MuOS on my RG35XX Plus

This video is super handy!!! Any chance you could do a more indpeth vid on the Theme tool and the ports? I want to make my own themes and with ports which ones require the extra setup and how to do that would be great! even where you can get more ports

Do you copy the stock OS onto a more stable SD card? I get my 35xx h soon and I'm thinking I'll just keep the stock OS, but I want peace of mind that it won't corrupt. Is this as simple a process as copy paste? Any help would be appreciated

I wanted to update my RG35XXSP with the latest modded stock OS.
I followed the guide, copied all the files into the SD, launched the update on my SP and got stuck where it asks to confirm because the dpad doesn't work and I can't select "Yes". I tried to push every button and none of them work except for the reset button, which I used to restart the device. After rebooting to the stock OS, everything is back to normal and all controls work.
I've looked online and found absolutely nothing about this specific problem. What should I do?

Currently trying to reupgrade my upgraded downgrade. A lot of the functions such as the light off app stopped working. I’ve noticed 2 random shut offs while in sleep mode and at first it froze when going into sleep mode. Reset apps dosent revert the firmware change it did nothing in this case

I'm still waiting for my device. But if I do this, and apply the modded OS, will I be able to run a 1 SD card setup? Because I heard that the stock OS wont let you use the remaining space on the one SD card. My device comes with 2 cards, but I'm gonna replace it with 1 SanDisk.

I bought a samsung 128 gb card and was planning on 1 card method is this possible and can i add roms to the same card trying to figure this out ive had my devuce for 3 days and still havent turned it on if you can help please and ty!!?

I'd tried using MuOS on my new RG35XXH but had issues with sound. So I reverted to the latest version of Stock OS by reinserting my original 64GB card. I then reformatted my 256GB card that had MuOS to FAT32 but now the console refuses to recognise it 🤦🏻‍♂️. Any ideas?

I followed your tutorial on my RG35XX-H and got to the 11:46 marker of your video. The RG35XX-H asked to reboot and I did, when it restarted it vibrated on the "Anbernic" screen and the LED began flashing yellow and would not boot into the OS. I pressed the restart and when that didn't work, I powered off and powered it back on, same issue wouldn't boot into the OS. I have refreshed by Sandisk 32GB microSD card with the stock Mar 30th stock firmware and I'm up and running again.
