Awesome you did this with Chris Voss. Mirror what she is saying... How and What’s will get more info out of her. Label what she may be feeling - Seem’s like you, Sounds like you, looks like you... Tone is extremely important as Apollonia says. Light and nice tone as talking like while smiling, then go into the low DJ voice if need to calm conversation down, go slow and sounds sexy. I have done this talking and texting and this does work! I back Apollonia up with this video! Main point is you get more info out of her but in that sense of going along with the conversation and less of yourself show you’re an Active Listener. This may sound awkward and hard but it is NOT when you know these principles.

Listening to keywords gives us needed information to create new topics in the conversation. A great book that I would recommend is _On Becoming a Person_ by Carl Rogers. What you're describing is called "reflection, " a technique in which you reflect or mirror spoken dialogue. It shows that we're listening, and the tone in which we respond shows that we care and are interested in what is being said. Mirroring isn't just about verbally "repeating" or paraphrasing what was said but we have to simultaneously reflect body language and tone (emotions). If someone's demeanor is that of sadness or grief, our body language should not express excitability but rather gentleness. This technique works for most (if not all) situations including job interviews. Dale Carnegie recommends paying attention to what a person cares about and using that information to guide our conversations and actions. Picking up on key words is a real sign that you are listening to her

I use something called LCA to help me with conversation. It stands for learn, confirm, affirm. You first listen to what she says, then confirm by mirroring some words back to her so she knows you heard her and then relating what she said to your own experience or opinion. Then, affirm that what she said by saying that what she said makes you think “X” about her.

I had no choice but to start doing this naturally because women can talk their heads of and its a lot to keep up with so this does work. Dissect those paragraphs they speak little at a time everytime the is a gap in conversing bring up the next thing you remember it does work.
