I wish we would see some bleeding edge tech in iPhones, but I really doubt we will ever see it again (early days iPhones were pretty advanced for the time). Apple will most likely continue to choose the extra safe route. A ton of people already love iPhones the way they are and don’t care much about the newest tech features. As long as they don’t get left far behind, what incentive do they have to push amazing new tech??

You nailed it on the camera sensor size. Higher resolution reaches the limits you mentioned with a small sensor. I’d rather have a 12 MP camera with a larger sensor. Case in point. A digital SLR with 6 MP and a sensor measuring an inch or more will look less grainy than a much smaller 12 MP sensor.

My a7siii's 12MP camera is still one of my faves to use for photography, but I will admit 20-30 is the sweet spot for me. Wouldn't mind that for the iPhone for a lil more wiggle room on cropping, but the file size would do me in
