Exposed Aggregate Concrete Driveway in Doubleview, Perth (Before and Afters)
Показать описание
The Decorative Concrete WA team recently embarked on a project involving a driveway, entranceway, and steps of a high-end Doubleview property.
About the Project (Before)
We have a high-end home in Doubleview, Perth, with two units located at the back of the property. It is on a hilly slope, giving breathtaking views of the city. Meanwhile, the swimming pool area matches the beauty of the blue sea beyond.
At that time, the property lacked a driveway that would complement the beauty of the surroundings. The owner hired the Decorative Concrete WA team and was given the following tasks:
✅ Install a full driveway
✅ Add floating steps
✅ Create a unique entranceway
Challenges We Encountered
This Doubleview project started in June, meaning the team had to endure Perth’s rainy days. Aside from the unpleasant weather, we also had to tackle other challenges.
Since concrete work usually starts after house construction is finished, DCWA had to work while other contractors were on-site. It may not be an excessively tricky test, but our team needs to ensure everyone is safe as we perform our job.
Perhaps the biggest issue was the sloped property itself. Pouring concrete on its own is already laborious; however, it gets even more difficult when it should be poured on an incline. Our experts were keen on taking the project, making sure that proper preparation of the area and materials were achieved.
The property also has natural curves that we did not want our work to interfere with. Thus, we had to carefully avoid them to maintain the structure and design of the home.
What Product Did We Use?
For this project, DCWA decided to take advantage of exposed aggregate. Here are the reasons why:
✅ It is the perfect material for a sloped property because of its superior grip.
✅ The owner wanted a customised look, and exposed aggregate offers several colour and style options. We agreed on a black pepper exposed aggregate (Limecrete range).
✅ The material is skid-resistant, making it the best choice for a sloped surface.
✅ Exposed aggregate is more durable than standard concrete and has minimal maintenance requirements.
✅ It is safe, traffic-resistant, and practical.
The Incredibly Stunning Result (After)
Within ten days, we were able to complete the whole project. It required pouring and installing 300m2 of exposed aggregate from our Limecrete range. The finished look consisted of black stone and other aggregate materials, creating an exceptionally gorgeous combination of white, brown, and black specks.
