I got rejected for a job that clearly said in the ad "No experience necessary, will train". I couldn't believe it. That was probably the most angry I've ever been about a job rejection.

I hope every company that wants a person with experience except doctors our lawyers goes bankrupt. Hate people what want experience especially if the job doesn’t require a college degree which is like 70 percent of jobs.

I have an internship, I have 9 months to work for free
Uhhh
9 months working for free = 36 months studying at college

Just lie and say you have the experience, then learn on the job. Working for free is for suckers and is only possible if you have literally nothing else going on in life other than your job. Unpaid internships are also illegal in many countries.

Well... This is like balancing on an edge of a knife. Sure, you'll benefit for doing it like this and get the experience.. But you also have beware of the companies that takes advantage of youth (and adults) doing it this way. "You work for free? Great, then we don't have to pay you." But then again those are the companies not being real and serious.. Other than that, great motivational video for young people (and other people too) with no or little experience trying to get at job :)

Gary, I had to google this title & go back to refresh my memory on how to get a job out of my current F/T job field. This video popped up & bam, great advice & remember to not be too fancy to grind hard from my 7-10pm hours (for free if needed) to gain the recent experience in the field/professional I want to be doing, which is Sports Marketing, (specifically Athlete Development & Marketing). Thanks again #GaryVee for being practical, but raw and insightful. #GoCowboys though, lol.

So basically get an internship to get the experience to get a job? Thank you! I've made several calls and texts to serveal different companies but I wasn't lucky because I didn't have any experience in the work force. Hopefully an internship could boost my chances of landing a job one day. Thanks GaryVee Archieves, you're the greatest!

Work for free. Intern for free. Hit up every company/start up in the industry you want in your area. Work at night or whenever you're not working the job that pays your bills.

I've offered free work but the people in my area are so close minded. They look at me like I'm crazy because I'm willing to offer them free work in return for knowledge. Smh. The Rio Grande Valley sucks bro.

A simple way to do it is pitch companies with a try-and-buy. He's right that startups are willing to give people a chance because for them attitude > aptitude.

I have to work at a job with no experience and at the same time, I have to work for free in my dream job to get experience.

This sounds like good advice but I'm not sure if its practical for every field. See, I live in NYC and have a full time job, but I want to get into Human resources. Problem is I can't find an internship between the hours of 6PM-10PM (nor do they exist in this field). I would love to weekends but most of the internships I did find say they don't take people who are willing to work weekends.

I had a bad experience with a start up company. got fired my 2nd day cause I wasn't catching on quick enough. it was for quality control with dental crowns and it was my very first time in that field. all my experience is retail food service and warehouse. because of that it seem that's all I attract but obviously I don't want that anymore. I have forklift certification but no1 wants to risk hiring me cause I tell them I was only a backup forklift driver. on top of it alotta jobs expect open availability but i take classes Wednesday for A+certification in IT and I'm not giving that up. I just need something that'll pay the bills until I get certified and can get into IT
