I can see how fragile you’re feeling but you’re also being so strong, we love you, Dominique xx

More years ago than I care to remember I heard a character in a television costume drama say "When one is unhappy on the inside it is important to decorate the outside". This had always been my attitude & doing it had got me through the saddest times of my life. It doesn't mean that someone is being shallow, selfish or uncaring it means that they are doing positive, something to nurture themselves & for many, including me, it's our normal. When I saw you at the end of your video I could imagine Audrey looking at you with all the love & pride she had in her glorious daughter & smiling her beautiful smile.

Y'all, I am being tested and TRIED right now, and I was feeling like I'm the only one... but then here comes Dominique, letting us know that we're not alone. Thanks for making yourself vulnerable, Dominique. We appreciate you.

I lost my husband of 41 years July 16 and self care is so important. I have been surrounded with support by friends and family doing sweet things for me. My sincere condolences for losing your Mom. Praying God gives you comfort and peace during this time.

I brought my daughter to her first year of college earlier in the week. I must say it was so much harder than i thought. It actuality physically hurt. I cant imagine losing my mom and bringing a child to college for the first time in such close proximity. Hugs to you and your son!!!! You're doing great and a beautiful person inside and out

Moving forward after losing a mother is monumental...I cried and cried....Life does move forward...it does take time and she will always be part of you, day after day. She would want you to move forward just as you are you!!!

Good to hear from you! My youngest son moved out a few weeks ago and we haven't talked at all. We've never had any problems or issues with him, so this has hit us hard. I'm so sorry about your Mom, and I know taking your son to college was hard, but this is a nice reminder that we're all dealing with heartache and troubles. Also a good reminder to take care of ourselves. Praying for peace and strength for all of us.

Thanks for sharing, Dominique. I admire how you are taking care of you during this process, and I definitely encourage everyone watching this video to do so. During my time as a caregiver to my beautiful mother, I neglected myself a lot, because she became my top priority, and in reality I needed to place myself in that priority list as well, but did not know how to do that. I can say that just recently, after almost a year of her passing, I am beginning to take care of me again. ❤

I really needed this video. I have just returned home after two months in Canada as my brother in law died then I stayed longer as my sister in law was not coping and as a widow myself I knew how she was feeling. I have been so busy helping her I have not had any time for myself. You give me the incentive to look after me now once I get over the jet lag. Thank you for all your videos xx

Feeling your loss Dominique. I lost my mother right before my one and only child went to college. It felt like a bomb went off in my heart. I think I spent the first year in a walking haze. So thanks for reminding us that we need to take care of ourselves. Sending you prayers and positive thoughts.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I shared with a friend how lucky I felt having had the opportunity of having been welcomed into my husband’s life at such a young age 50 years ago. I’m a few weeks into my own bereavement and I totally get that dried out feeling when you look into the mirror and you looked parched. Just started adding those extra skin treatments morning and night in the hope I don’t end up permanently shrivelled. I also have wonderful friends who check in and ask me out, how grateful am I. Never turn down an invitation even if you feel you aren’t up to it, if they are good, understanding friends they will understand if you don’t join in or phase in an out of conversations, it’s a process and it takes time and it’s different for everyone. It’s your normal. ❤
