Vertical string trellising tomatoes

Показать описание
Our tomatoes are off to a good start this spring. Planted early May, they’ve already grown a couple feet tall. We’re keeping them upright and trained on our trellis with vertical strings. We twist the new growth around the twine once a week as they grow. Later in the season, we’ll add a few more strings to help support heavy branches as they set fruit.

What are those clips that connect string to tomatoe

Use the tomahooks instead of just tying to the pole. Then you can "lower and lean" the stems and they can still be climbing when the stems are 12 feet long.

Questions— are you focusing on the main stem or are you tying up secondary stems as well?

Follow up— are you trimming branches as they grow taller?
