Wow Jai, doing us Aussies proud. Surprised his group was allowed to get that far ahead, but things will change drastically now that he is in yellow. Hard to see Vingegaard not win the tour again. That acceleration up the climb when he decided to put the foot down was just incredible. The others were literally almost left standing, so great was the difference in speed going up that climb.

Bora have managed to pull off a massive coup today to put Hindley into yellow. Chapeau.

It was just amazing to watch Vingegaard FLY through it like that. Indeed King of TDF. Another level.

Can't believe Kuss's bunny hop over the grate didn't make the highlights 🤣

As a Kiwi watching the tour, all I will say, with a wink here, a wink there, is when you least expect it an Aussie will crash the party through the back door and never Mr Hindley.

Jonas is on another level. Level of TdF King.

Good to see Josse is checking things thoroughly, so the peloton can take off in good order!

Man, this Tour is coming out "all guns blazing". Intense stages right from the start. No rest for the wicked.

As a Dane i have to root for Vingegaard, but honestly every Slovenian should be proud of Pogacar. What an athlete and a great sports. A true gentleman always smiling and congratulating those who perform better on the day.

Maybe Pog just isn't race ready enough owing to his injury. I'm surprised Hindley was allowed so far up the road.

Vingegaard with an incredible time – breaks the Pogacar record

Jonas Vingegaard didn't just put the competitors to the wall on Wednesday's stage – he also set an incredible time.

The Dane took 20 minutes and 57 seconds to run the Col de Marie Blanque, NTT Data sensors recorded according to the race. This means he beats Pogacar's time on the climb from 2020, when the Slovenian took his first stage win in the Tour de France. Here, Pogacar completed the climb in 22 minutes and 24 seconds.

Quite impressive.

How on earth did UAE and TJV allow such a big gap to a rider who has won and finished runner-up in a Grand Tour? Clearly they were just watching each other and Bora Hansgrohe took advantage. Well done to them, they won on strength and tactics today.

As feared Pog isn't as good as last year. I heard that Vingegaard thought UAE drove too slowly, so he pushed his team and just went away. Incredible by Jai too.

As a Dane - hence speaking a weird minority language with spelling nowhere near pronunciation - it's always appreciated when non-Danish speakers make the effort to pronounce our names correctly, as in GCN being spot on with "Vingegaard" (although I wouldn't expect anything less from GCN).

Vingegaard dropped his ass again 😮‍💨 crazy stuff

Vingegaard is a beast! I think this is a wrap if no accidents happen! I see Jai taking the 2nd place if he does what he usually does in week 3. If Pog finds his form through the next days than he may be able to break up the race but if Jumbo is on their game, I do not see him win

He pronounces Vingegaard's name perfectly. Unbelievable 🤗

brilliant domestique work by Kuss and Buchmann staying glued to Pog and Jonas. UAE perhaps willing to give up the jersey to ease pressure on the team or risk burning up Majka and Bjerg. Also, maybe some of that intra-team tension between Pog and Yates. Maybe Pog didn't want to bury himself just to keep Yates in yellow... if that is part of it, we may see the real Pog tomorrow.
