I'm an interior designer and I prefer FreeCAD to design house plans and Blender to render the work. Sometimes I do everything in Blender.

You failed to mention Blender - a fully spec'd comprehensive, multifunctional and extremely powerful "proper" 3d modelling package in the same league as 3DS Max and Maya with a HUGE consumer following and support. It's learning curve may be a little higher than those you mentioned, but that's more than compensated for by it shear strength. Worth considering.

Sketchup has a learning curve, you'll have to rethink a lot of the schemas most other design softwares commonly use.
