Color Theory: Bright Winter vs Bright Spring

I feel like it's possible to be in between Bright Spring and Winter. I don't fit perfectly in either category but have easily ruled out Fall (warm muddy colours look horrible on me) and Summer (grey toned pastels wash me out). As for the bright seasons, I think most Bright Spring colours look best on me, except for the warmer beiges and yellows. Winter's black and white are okay on me but still not as good as a classic Bright Winter. And I absolutely cannot wear gold, unless it's very pale. Silver or pale gold are my best metals, and sometimes copper. Anyone else experience this problem of being in between seasons?

The model you used for Bright Spring is actually a True Spring. Bright Springs have higher contrast than the other springs. This video will confuse people.

I'm some kind of Winter with deep brown eyes. I gravitate towards cool, bright, pure tones. Jewel tones in particular. Turquoise (the gemstone) jewellery looks fantastic against my skin tone. I absolutely loathe wearing the color red. I feel drained looking at it. Too intense. Pastel colours are fine, but Dusky colours make my complexion look dull.

There was this one time l dyed my naturally black hair to a reddish brown. All the sudden, l gravitated tob warm colours shown in the slide. I wore red, Browns, oranges, dusky colours even. It was interesting to say the least.

So someone with medium eyes cannot be a bright spring? I am 99% sure i am a bright sping and 400% i am warm its extremely obvious. I am Greek with pale yellowish-neutral skin which makes a big contrast with dark brown hair and my eyes are medium in depth dark green (with a little yellow in them) so they are somewhere in between my hair and eyes in contrast. But dark colors don't fit me for sure they are too harsh for me i am like i am going to a monastery with them. One time when i made my hair ligher with a lot of golden hightlights i lost this high contrast my hair have with my skin and everyone told me i destroyed my appearence. Plus when i see old photos of me when i used to tan i was socked by how awful i look (while i was loosing again this hight contast). So which season type is someone with high contrast, not deep, with wark undertone someone has?

And some people still believe that a fair and light person like that, even with SOFT eyes can be a bright winter :( that’s so... well analysts are human too I believe they have been pushed by their clients that are paying for a specific result. :(

Wow...I realized Ive been wearing the wrong Bright Spring Autumn colours and am totally a Bright Winter...uh oh...wardrobe rehaul time! Lol

Hi Jen! I have a similar question to another commenter. Could you do a video comparing someone like Anne Hathaway to Michelle Dockery? Both have fair skin, dark hair and dark eyes, but one is a winter and one is a spring. I have been told I’m a true winter by a two different friends, but I was analyzed by a professional and labeled a “clear spring.” I have an pretty close to neutral and I loathe some of the bright and warm colors! I have a hard time believing they would look right on me. If you could show some examples in a video that would be awesome! My sister and I ordered your color cards and can’t wait for them to arrive!

Am a blonde Bright Spring, and bright pink, particularly, but the purple, also, looks good on me. These colors are a part of the color palette for a Bright Spring (Outfitideas4You), so am a bit puzzled.
The undertones in the skin seem to be key, and other colors are more telling, at least for Springs.
For example, when it comes to reds, true blue-reds are aging, warm or even pinky reds work better.

I think Im a bright spring because the orange and umber red tones look really great on me, BUT I can also pull of Bright winter blue, I have tops with prints that mix the orange and blue colours together.

I think I am somewhere in between because I have naturally very dark auburn hair and eyebrows but extremely bright blue green eyes. I’m not sure what skin undertone I have but I am extremely pale. Colors that suit me best are dark, bright and sometimes light.

Im pretty sure im a bright winter. However- i have light blonde hair and the bright spring eyes, neutral coloring but bright and clear. Could i be a bright winter since i cannot wear the warm colors of bright spring? My coloring is light bright clear with low contrast though. Thank you for your great videos!

I’m not sure if I’m warm or cool but I’m definitely bright and dark/deep. Can I still be a bright spring if I’m dark/deep? And what if I’m warm, bright and deep?

Can you explain the difference between deep winter, deep winter and true winter?

Dear Jen, I´m a bit confused now, because I first thought I could be Clear Spring, then yesterday was analysed somewhere else as a Light Spring.

I wonder where are the differences between the colors of a Light Spring and a Clear Spring, if the Clear isn´t supposed to wear dark colors oder cool colors? They both are warm and light color types.
