DARK WINTER VS BRIGHT WINTER COLOR ANALYSIS
Both of these colors are coo which means they should both work for a cool undertones right? While the first blue is not the worst color for me, because it respects some of my color dimensions, there's clearly a better blue for my complexion.
When I analyse your colors I take into account the three dimensions of color:
1. Skin undertone (cool-warm)
2. Value (dark-light)
3. Chroma (bright-soft)
THEN I have a look at your contrast level. All of these things will help me determine what kind of colors look best on you, what characteristics these colors have that harmonize with your complexion and give you that natural glow, plus how to combine these colors to respect the level of contrast you have!
The right colors for you will make you look healthy, give you a natural glow and help you curate a closet that is perfect for YOU.

I think it's the camera changing to accommodate the different color

This is not the magic of color, this is the magic of auto white balance and automatic exposure settings on a camera.
The technology will change settings based on what colors and values appear in the scene being photographed.

Wow!! Love this. Could you show examples between true and dark winter? Would be amazing as I’m struggling to understand true winter. Thank you x

Well, if you hide with your hand the bottom - the fabrics - you will clearly see that the lighting is changing when she switches the fabrics, so it is not the the colour that makes her brighter but the actual camera lighting/exposure

I know that's just an automatic light adjustment that adds high contrast, but with bright blue eyes and brows pop-up and it looks great. With darker colour everything looks muted (the skin is more even though). Perhaps, it's just me who likes bright vivid colours :)

So many ignorant comments saying it’s fake (happens with every colour theory video). It’s fine to be skeptical but this is something so easy to try at home to test whether one’s skepticism is warranted. It’s annoying how it’s the ones who are wrong who are usually so confident in their accusations and assumptions. Geeze.

Other way round for me...navy is a good colour but everything about my face pops with bright, electric blue

It’s best to do these things in natural light

I don’t know what the answer should be, but I like the cornflower blue. It made your lips look like you have on lipstick.

the bright draws attention away from her face but the navy does the opposite & compliments her tone & features

I am a naturally pale Hispanic with pitch black hair and metallic dark brown eyes. I both tan and burn but I tan blotchy.

This helps because now I know why navy and darker blues always looked off on me. They dull and grey me out while the brighter blues complement my edgy features and make me look healthier.

Thanks for the draping example!

I cannot tell if I am a clear winter or clear spring. I have dark hair extremely pale skin, warm hazel eyes and black eyebrows and eyelashes and warm freckles and bright pink lips. I look good in lighter lipsticks and dark kohl on my eyes. Cool red darker nails make my hands look bad and pink. I look good with pale pink nails, my hands look yellow and healthy. I rock gold and tolerate silver but it is not as flattering as gold. I have the palest skin I have ever seen.

Black looks amazing on me as well but I still can't figure if I'm warm or cool so I settled for neutral... I thought I was a bright spring but black looks so good on me and compliments my skin . I have tried some of my clothes on and saw how different my skin looks with each of them but I got more confused... because winter is cool and I don't think silver looks so good on me but also orange is not that good on me and I don't see myself as person with high contrast + I already died my hair to warm color lmao

You need to manually set your white balance to make this effective, which it could be.

It' s a matter of personal taste. The "wrong" colors provide more contrast, depth and definition to the features. Not everybody wants to look softened.
