As an INFJ, this reminds me of some of the few people I was never able to "read" and both women made me so uneasy. Both were quiet and had a mostly flat and unexpressive affect, but what really threw me off was that they never laughed at or found the same things funny consistently. Besides having zero social/emotional information to work with, I had no insight into what they found amusing, which really left me feeling completely unable to relate to them or able to meet them halfway. There was absolutely no pattern and nothing I could predict, which was disorienting. We could never get past acquaintances since I couldn't figure out how to relate to either of them past common politeness and conversation. For an INFJ that's really disturbing since I can pretty much connect with almost anyone haha. They made me realize how much I relied on knowing what people found funny since it plays such a huge part of informing my approach when trying to make friends. I'm pretty sure they had similar personality types too, I want to say ISXP?

When i talk about my opinions and feelings with my friends, they listen to me just to be nice but never actually engage or feel entertained. I can see through it and although i appreciate their efforts, i feel like I'm being a nuisance and go back into my shell

We actually in habit many forms of humor. The opposite of blank canvas its the ability to hold many truths. However only an unhealthy INFJ would use a matching behavior that they don't themselves find funny.This guy many times has INFJs wrong. I think it's because of his own rigid outlook. It doesn't allow him to encompass the expansiveness of our personality types ...lol

People thought I'm serious and had no sense of humor. Once I see that they're comfortable with it, I give them a bunch of sarcasm, a couple of roasts, dark jokes and such. However, I keep them to myself if the people I'm talking with don't seem to accept dark jokes. So yeah I can say that this resonates
