I'm a 27mm F2.8 guy for street. I use it with my X-E2. Zone focus in manual at f11, speed around 250 and let the ISO take care of itself. The 35mm F2 is fantastic for the 50mm equivalent range. I don't find it as easy to zone focus. Amazing lens.

I got the 27mm 2.8 this week! With my X-E1 body it is small and discret as a compact camera :P

Fuji x70 the best fuji street camera and the most underrated fuji camera

I have found out that 35mm (in 35mm format) is how I seem to visualize photos on my head, so Fuji's 23mm would be perfect in most situations, if it had to be a prime. Currently I have used 18-55 kit lens and I like it very much. Having a normal zoom lens with traveling gives you simplicity and versatility. Couple months ago I bought 27mm pancake lens, it's perfect if I want to have a smaller setup with my X-T2..

I am not a street photographer, but I do bring the 18-55mm with me to all my trips. I've even shot weddings with it - don't tell anyone!

I usually take the 23 1.4 and 56 1.2. Once you get used to it, the 56 makes a great tight street lens.

I use a 27mm 2.8 for my xt20 and I love it. It's my go to street lense. For everything else I use the 18-55mm but i'm thinking I'll get a 16mm as well.

I have fuji 23 1.4, 18-55, and 12 f2 samyang. The perfect lens combo for me. 12mm for super wide, 18-55 for pretty much everything, and 23 1.4 for indoor low light scene.

Great fun and great info. I've used the 16-55mm a lot, but when I first got m XT2, I only had the 35mmf2 and got some great shots with that, so I agree . . . there is no one perfect lens. It's how you feel. Sometimes I love the prime, sometimes zoom. That's what's great about it.

Xt20 with the 23 1.4 live on the Fuji now. I shoot some night shots for the fire dept with lots of mixed lights with great results. The 18-55 has been relegated to video only.

18-55 f/2.8-4 LM OIS

There’s a reason why this lens has the word “kit” usually in quotes. It may be supplied in a kit, but it’s an objectively good lens not just by kit lens metrics, but as a whole.

The other one would probably be the Rokinon NCS 12mm f/2. Tried it on my old Sony and it’s a rocker.

Actually I told my friend (neither of us professionals) that a prime lens is actually easier for composition, because for us amateurs, getting used to the compression and focal length lets us quickly compose and frame a photo, while on a zoom lens, we're just not used to all the focal lengths and compressions variables, making it harder to compose.

Now I'm playing with the 16mm F1.4, and its really amazing the amount of environment and scenery you can capture with the subject (mostly family members) still sharp and beautiful. I hated it when I started taking photos, and all I could see were my family members but couldn't figure out where we went to.

Omar, I totally agree with you. This kit lens does not slack on quality like many other kit lenses from other camera manufacturers do. I purchased a Fuji 23mm f/1.4 just for street photography. It's a little bulky and heavy, so I often leave it at home. I love the range I get with the 18-55.

Hi Omar. I have the 23mm f2–the one that comes with a free camera attached 😎. I also have the 18-55 which I use with my X-E3. This weekend I am shooting a Chinese New Year celebration and am bringing the 18-55. I love the X100F, but for a street event I think the 18-55 will be a lot more flexible.

Great videos, BTW!
