Momma's Meatloaf is a classic meatloaf that has the best flavor ever! This meatloaf recipe is easy to make, holds together, and has the best glaze on top!

✅Ingredients

• 2 pounds lean ground beef
• 1/2 white onion diced
• 1 cup dried bread crumbs
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 large egg
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon basil
• 1 teaspoon oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

FOR THE GLAZE:
• 1/2 cup ketchup
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 pan.

2️⃣ 00:00:11 - In a large mixing bowl, knead together the ground beef, onion, bread crumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, basil, oregano, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

3️⃣ 00:01:12 - Shape the meat into a loaf and put it into the prepared pan. Bake in the 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

4️⃣ 00:01:43 - Mix up the glaze in a small bowl by whisking together the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce. Brush it over the hot meatloaf.

5️⃣ 00:02:15 - Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.

I cooked it tonight. This meatloaf is righteous. I never made meatloaf before and this came our much better and much more flavor than I expected. I followed the recipe to the letter. It was surprisingly simple for the complexity of the flavor. This will definitely be in my recipe rotation.

Ok so in the past I've had my parents meatloaf, I've had my family's meatloaf, I've had my friends meatloaf and with me wanting to learn how to make meatloaf myself I went to this video. I did do a couple things differently like the breadcrumbs I used italian not the regular unflavored and I also did not add too many of the red pepper flakes because I don't do spicy but I have to say this has been HANDS DOWN the best meatloaf I've ever had in my entire life. This is going to be a new regular for me. Tysm!

She seems so casual second time this lady has fooled me. I made this meatloaf per the recipe, pulled the meatloaf at 45 minutes and it was 120. I spread the topping and last 15 at 400 degrees. Came out temp 160 and 6 people said “best meatloaf I’ve ever eaten”. Ha ha no kidding this meatloaf is the best I’ve ever made thank you dear for

Made this tonight since it sounded so good and it were absolutely delicious! Wonderful recipe I'll for sure use again for a future meatloaf. That glaze was perfect for the meal and the loaf slices laid onto some mashed potatoes? My goodness, perfect. Looking forward to trying out more of your recipes in the future!

I made this meatloaf tonight. It is AWESOME! I used 3 lbs of ground beef because we have a large family. Yes I have leftovers for sandwiches. Yes, the glaze is Incredible! Thank you this easy to follow recipe and video. 👏👏👏

Made this tonight... but, i didnt have the herbs. But, i had Italian bread crumbs. Which worked perfectly! Also, i didnt have regular milk. Had lactose free milk. Again, it worked... and the sauce... i didnt put brown sugar and it still all tasted My meatloaf came out splendid.! Also, i mixed meat amd ingredients by hand. No spoon or utensil used.

It’s 2024 and I made this for lunch because of the reviews of how simple it is.

I LOVE IT! it is true it’s so simple and quick yet so delicious. I love the balance. Some meatloaf recipes are just too soggy and wet yet this one was perfect. The glaze is awesome as well! I just wish that the leftovers will taste just as great as when it’s fresh from the oven. Thank you for great recipe!

A much more effective method, is to mix the the wet/dry ingredients first-egg beaten-then add to the bowl. This makes an easier and more even mix. Not only with this recipe, but with many others as well. A step often not considered by many cooks, this insures an even distribution of ingredients and flavors, as well as avoiding what is known as 'hot spots'.

This looks exactly like the recipe that my mother used to make, except she would use crumbled soda crackers, rather than bread crumbs. The glaze was what made it all come together. We absolutely loved it as kids. I don’t make a lot of meat dishes for some reason, but I can’t wait to try this recipe and bring back some fun memories! Thanks!

This recipe is easy and amazing. I've made it 3 or 4 times already. Screwed up one time and used a whole onion. Still delicious. Last time I used 1lb bison and 1lb Italian sausage. So, so good. Thank you for this satisfying leftovers!

Made today but used 1/2 of all ingredients for a smaller loaf. Reduced first cooking time to 35 minutes but left the 400 degree glaze cooking time at 15 minutes. Final temp still the recommended 160 degrees F. Yummy good.

I continue to chase the best chili recipe, the best mashed potato recipe, the best beef stew recipe and the best meatloaf recipe. Now I used the beef/pork/veal mix, but this, as simple as it is, is my current all time favorite. Thank you!
