When I was growing up, my granny was my favorite cook. My mama was also a fantastic cook, but there was just something about being in granny’s kitchen. We all gathered around the table when we went to her house. I have made it easy for you to learn how to cook like my granny and mama did with cooking tutorials for every recipe in our cookbooks. I am a Southern girl born and raised in Collard Valley in Polk County, Georgia. We went to church on Sunday, school during the week, and the grocery store on Friday, and that was our life: no vacations, no camping, just plain old southern country people.

NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
Tomato Sauce Meatloaf (Vol. 1 Cookbook Recipe)
Tomato Sauce Meatloaf
2 LB. GROUND CHUCK
1 MEDIUM ONION – DICED
1/2 BELL PEPPER – DICED
8 OZ. CAN OF TOMATO SAUCE
5 SHAKES WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
2 RAW EGGS
1/4 CUP OF BROWN GRAVY MIX
6 OZ. OF CHICKEN OR TRADITIONAL DRY STUFFING MIX (PEPPERIDGE FARM OR STOVE TOP)
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. It is best to use your hands. If you do not want to touch the meat, use your stand mixer with paddle attachment. Spray a 3-quart oblong or rectangular baking dish with cooking spray. Put meatloaf in baking dish and bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Take out of oven and drain excess grease off meatloaf. Then top with ketchup. Spread it on top and bake another 20 minutes. .

SC here and a big fan of meatloaf 😊. I make mine basically the way you did except for the topping. I mix some brown sugar in the rest of that can of tomato sauce and top mine with that for the last few minutes in the oven. And you're right; there's not much better than a meatloaf sandwich the next day 😋 ❤

My mama always used bread crumbs mainly the end pieces, Ketchup, onions, bell peppers, salt, pepper and topped with ketchup. I make mine the same way, I even make mini meatloaves and freeze them.

This looks really good. I love meatloaf and will have to give this a try. I have never heard of using gravy mix though. I looked in your favorites on Amazon and did not see any listed. I was going to order some and give it a try. I love your videos and I love how you teach people how to cook and I always learn so much every time I watch one of your videos. I would love to see one on how to cook liver and onions. My grandmother used to cook this with gravy and creamed potatoes but I never paid attention to how it was prepared but I loved eating it.

I made Meatloaf today served with Mashed Potatoes and Oven roasted Broccoli. We enjoyed it very much.. I even made an Angel food cake ❤

Yum...I guess no spices are needed because of the gravy mix (which I love) and the seasoned stuffing.

Hi Tammy & Chris! This recipe was among the first that my crew singled out almost immediately when we received your cookbook. They all enjoy meatloaf and we usually make an extra one to make sure we have enough for sandwiches the next day. We made this a couple of nights ago using refreshed dehydrated green bell peppers and refreshed dehydrated onions. The meatloaf was excellent as always! We've been experimenting with dehydrated and freeze-dried products in recioes we've tried and know to be amazing! Thanks for another video, y'all! 🌞

Looks good! Teeth are shot, so meatloaf is one of my staples. Only meat I can chew and a little chicken thighs boiled.

Meatloaf is a favorite of mine. I use your recipe except for the green peppers. My husband doesn’t like them.

My husband, sister and I have meatloaf often. I’m going to try your recipe soon. My mom made meatloaf with either bread or oatmeal and milk and eggs for her wet ingredients. It was always good.
